The madoka movies

So I just finished watching madoka for the first time a few minutes ago. Are the first two movies really just recaps with no new or varied scenes? I loved the series bUT I'm not sure I'm ready to rewatch it again, yknow.
tl;dr Should I watch the first two madoka movies?

Oh my god Rebellion is so good.
I can't even decide whether or not I like it. But it's so good.

Just go straight for the 3rd movie if you've already watched the show.
Wasn't it intriguing for the writer of Madoka to take the stereotypes of magical girl shows and turn it completely upside down and make it into a horror-esque, thriller show? Well the writer does another 180 flip with the 3rd movie, but in a different way.

The scenes have much better graphics in the movies, but besides that, the first movie is the same as episodes 1-8, but due to having to cover a lot of material they had to cut out some of Mami's backstory.

The opposite goes for Eternal, since it covers episode 9-12, there's around 10-20mins of footage that's not seen in the TV show.

There's also soundtracks that's not played in the anime.

I don't remember exactly, but I think there were new scenes added to the movies and of course less relevant things were taken out.

The third movie is a must watch if you're a fan though, as it's a canonical sequel.

As you say, the first two movies are just recaps. If you already watched the episodes then theres no point in watching the movies unless you want to refresh your memory.
