Mario & Luigi: Paper Jam

ANyone know if this is a partial paper mario sequal? I'm thinking of preordering it because of amazon's new 20% off preorders. Based on the description on amazon it looks good, but I'd like some input. Also, are you looking forward to it?

I think it would be hard to be more disappointing than Sticker Star.

Thanks fams, I'll pick it up anyway and try to enjoy it for what it is. I haven't played any of the previous Mario & Luigi games, but as long as the gameplay is less disappointing than sticker star was, it should be alright.

The game's story-line is basically some of the Paper Mario series characters leaking into the Mario & Luigi series universe, so it's more of a Mario & Luigi game than a Paper Mario game and therefore not a sequel or relation of any real sort to any of the past Paper Mario games.
Taking place in the Mario & Luigi universe means that the game borrows more elements/ideas from those games, as well. So if you like the Mario & Luigi series, then, sure, get it. If you're more of a fan of the Paper Mario games instead, you might want to steer clear of this one.

From what I've heard, it's a sequel in the same way that Sticker Star is a sequel. It has the Paper Mario characters but it's not a Paper Mario game. Fortunately, while Sticker Star is just a bad game, Paper Jam can at least be good for Mario and Luigi fans. I personally am not a fan of the Mario and Luigi games, so I haven't gotten it myself and this whole thing is just hearsay.

The person I heard this from also seemed to enjoy Dream Team, which made me want to rip my eyes out, so I don't know how reliable the information about the quality is.

Basically just don't think of it as a Paper Mario game. Think of it as a Mario and Luigi game with Paper Mario characters shoehorned in.
