Distribution of Chaos Scroll Results [header]Introduction[/header] Having gotten my 5 year old character to level 200 I'm ready to leave Maplestory behind and move on. However, before I leave I'd like to answer a question that I've pondered over for a while: How are chaos scroll results determined? Most people assume that chaos scroll results are uniform; that there is an equal probability of obtaining each change. However, my experience using chaos scrolls leads me to believe that the results may be approximately normally distributed; the chance of getting a +1 is greater than the chance of getting a +2, +2 greater than +3, ect. [header]Probability Distributions[/header] The two distributions that I will be focusing on in this experiment a

Transposing and recoverable slots Empress weps have 10 slots after hammers while SW equips have 9. Let's say I get +9 on an empress wep with no slots left and transpose that wep onto a SW equip. Would I be able to recover the lost slot since the material weapon had 10 slots, or is that slot lost because the SW weapon has 9 slots? If anyone has denaro to spare maybe you could test this with a 2-handed axe. The SW 2h axe, empress 2h axe, 100%s, and 15% trace shouldn't cost more than 35 or 40m.

I was hacked and I know how it happened I was walking back to my house when I saw a young Asian man walking a dog. From watching so many dog shows I knew right away that it was an Australian Shepard, which are, in my opinion, very neat looking dogs. The man gave me permission to pet his dog, so I pet her for about 20 seconds. After that I continued walking home. Here's where the story gets fishy. EXACTLY 2 days and 4 hours after I pet the dog I find that my character has been completely stripped of all tradable items. As I was thinking about how this could have happened the first thing that came to my mind was the dog. I don't think this is a coincidence at all; I think petting the dog somehow led to my account being hacked. Please post her

No compensation for cube issue, wtf Nexon? When I logged on today I expected compensation for the bounty cube downgrading my equip, but I received none. As someone who played since '06 who's pretending that this issue affected me so that I can exploit Nexon's generosity, this is an outrage. I suggest anyone in a similar situation make an angry thread on the maple forums and log a ticket. We don't deserve to be treated this way! EDIT: changed "...8-year mapler..." to "...played since '06..."

Quick training method for funded lvl 160-200 I believe this is the training method used by the shade who reached 200 in 5 hours. It's possible to enter chaos horntail an unlimited number of times if you switch the expedition leader for each run (the character just has to be different from the character that previously led; you can alternate between 2 leaders). You don't even have to kill the exped like you have to with regular horntail; all that you need to do is pass the expedition leadership to another character and have that character enter chaos horntail. For the best results, this should be done with an hs mule and with a character that is able to kill chaos horntail in under 5 minutes (there's no benefit to being faster than this). Yo

Was the unban of perma banned exploiters planned? I was perma banned for the exploit. Three weeks after being banned I noticed that I wasn't on any of the perma ban lists since the ban, which I thought was kinda weird. I decided to start pestering Nexon to demand that they add one of my characters to one of the weekly lists. After three tickets I got [url=http://i.imgur.com/K4yZJZD.png]this response[/url]. This response doesn't sit right with me. Why would the perma ban lists be reserved for non-exploiters only? Doesn't excluding some people who are permanently banned defeat the purpose of having lists of permanently banned people? Could I have been fed a fake answer because they didn't intend to permanently ban me from the start? Do you th
