It may also be a virus that takes advantage of exploits in Internet Explorer to play audio streams even when IE isn't running.
I forget the name of this particular virus at the moment, but I would immediately run a scan with BOTH your regular anti-virus scanner whatever one you have, AND "Malwarebytes Anti-Malware" to see if they can find and remove anything.
