[header]Introduction[/header]

Welcome to the Official Night Walker Guide! In this guide you'll find all that you need to know to make an effective Night Walker! In this Guide you'll find a vast collection of information that has taken months to put together. In this Guide you'll find;

• Stat allocations
• Pros & Cons of Night Walkers
• Job Advancement help
• Skill Builds
• Training Locations
• Level 100 & 110 Skill Quest information
• Mount information

However, there are most likely mistakes on this guide and information that I do not know of. Please help me and the community by pointing it out and filling in the missing information. Thanks!

@Anisbro007 : Since Infeneon has no longer been updating his guide I have been given permission by @EeveePony to take this thread to continue expanding upon it for the greater good of the Night Walker community.

[header]Stat Allocation[/header]
Because Night Walkers are basically Assassins, the three stat allocations apply for us.
Regular Dex - Follow the "Auto-Assign" stat path. Your DEX has to be double your level up to Lvl. 40 and then add DEX +1 every level after.
Low-DEX - Add minimum DEX and use DEX equips to reach the requirements for high level equips. Make sure to have a cap on your DEX.
DEXless - Simple, just keep adding LUK and ignore DEX completely. Hence the term "DEXless"
[header]Pros and Cons[/header]
Regular Dex
• Cheapest to Maintain.
• Less powerful than the other builds (Unless you invest on expensive equips).

Low-DEX
• Very Powerful.
• Requires a lot of Mesos to maintain.

DEXless
• Very Powerful.
• Requires a lot of Mesos to maintain.

• Nimble Body [20] - (Passive) Permanently increases Accuracy and Avoidability.

• Disorder [10] - (Supportive) Temporarily decreases an enemy's Weapon Attack and Defense, eventually neutralizing the monster's attack. Cannot be used on the same monster repeatedly.
• Dark Sight [10] - (Supportive) Hides in shadow. With Dark Sight activated, you can neither attack nor be attacked. Pre-Requisite: Disorder Lvl. 3
• Lucky Seven [20] - (Active) Throws 2 throwing stars based on LUK, regardless of Claw Mastery.
• Darkness [10] - (Supportive) Summons a spirit to attack nearby enemies.

• Keen Eyes - 5 MAX
• Disorder - 3/6
• Dark Sight - 10 MAX
• Lucky Seven - 20 MAX
• Darkness - 0/3
Explanation for this Build
First point goes to Lucky Seven rather than Darkness because Lucky Seven makes more damage and is faster than Darkness at Lvl. 1. Next, you have to max out Keen Eyes, which requires Lvl. 3 in Nimble Body. Then you need to max out Lucky Seven since it is your main attacking move until Triple Throw. Then max out Nimble Body for accuracy and avoid. Next, you have to max out Dark Sight, which requires you to have Disorder at Lvl. 3. Then, put the remaining points into Darkness or Disorder.

• Flash Jump - 20 MAX
• Vanish - 10 MAX
• Vampire - 12

Explanation for this Build
First off, you'll get one point in Flash Jump for better mobility. Then, put the three points into Claw Mastery next level so you can start working on Critical Throw. One Vanish just for the fun of it and then start putting points into Haste for, once again, greater mobility. Depending on what you want next you can put points into Claw Mastery(more stars) or Flash Jump(greater range of jump). After you max both Mastery and Flash Jump you'll go ahead and max Claw Booster for a faster attacking speed. Lastly, Vanish at max for greater damage and then dump your last twelve points into Vampire for a mobbing skill.

• Vampire - 20 MAX

Explanation for this Build:
The same thing applies for the previous build. The only difference between this one and the first build is that you're maxing Vampire. Why you need an extra 8% attack on Vampire is beyond my belief but if you would rather max it over Vanish go ahead.

[header]Third Job - Training Locations[/header]
Lvl. 70 - 80:
Twisted Jesters(Highly Recommended) : Some people hate going here because of the enormous crowds but if you can get a good party going, you'll leave very quickly. You can easily stay here till level 85+.
Ariant(Recommended) : If Jesters aren't your thing then head over here to train/do quests. It's slower than Jesters but it'll work out just as fine.
Lvl. 81-90:
Twisted Jesters: Read Lvl. 70-80 description.
Iron Mutae(Level 81-84) : These are a good monster to train on. Not a big map and have two platforms of monsters.
Roids/Neo Huroid(Level 84/85-90) : Depending on which map you go to you'll find Roids or Neo Huroids and Roids. Either map works out just fine and the exp gain here is phenomenal.
Lvl. 91-100
Slimys/Selkie Jr.(Mysterious Path 3)(Highly Recommended) : These monsters are some of the absolute best monsters to train on. The spawn and mob sizes are just perfect. Watch out for crowds here, this map is highly populated.
Gallopera (Highly Recommended) : Once again, another great map for these levels. Once again watch out for crowds.
Lvl. 101-110
Dreamy Ghosts(Himes)(Recommended) : Once the best place to train for higher third job'ers. Now, this map has lost its luster. However, this map is still very good for Hermit/Night Walkers. Flat map with amazing spawn. Do watch out for Black Crow however.
Night Shadows : The only good Night Shadow map is the one inside of Crimson Wood Keep. If you can't get past the Jump Quest, don't try to go here.
Captain/Kru(Herb Town Pirates)(Recommended) : There are a wide number of maps for these monsters. Also, there's a mini-dungeon as well. Watch out for crowds.
Lvl. 111-120
Ghost Pirates(Level 110-112) : Here you'll notice there's a teleporter in the middle of the map from the bottom to the top. Jump down on the right side and kill everything, teleport back up, then kill the left and teleport back up. This cycle goes on and on.
Dual Ghost Pirates(Level 112-114) : This is pretty similar to Ghost Pirates. It's a giant tower, just down jump and kill, then teleport back up to the top and do it over and over and over.
Black Kentaurus(Level 114-118) : Possible the best place to train from these levels. If you don't like them, just go back to DGPs.
Spirit Vikings(Level 118-120) : Only train here if you are at least semi/heavily funded. If not, go back to DGPs and finish your last levels there. Otherwise, it'll be useless to try to train here.

[header]Quests for Skills[/header]
Triple Throw
Video explanation.
Basic information : When you reach Level 100 you'll receive a quest telling you to go back to Ereve. For this quest you'll have to go kill a boss monster in the 3rd Training Hall. Each time you go in, the monster changes(Like shown in the video). Kill the monster and go back to Eckhart to gain your new skill. Simple as that.

Venom
Video explanation.
Basic information : At Level 110 you'll gain another quest telling you to head back to Ereve. Pretty much the same deal as Triple Throw. You go into the 4th Training Hall and kill the boss monster that spawns there. It changes every time you go in and out, like the 3rd Hall does.

@ilikeilbis : I know I don't have a specific section for Dexless but the two links I posted in the actual guide has Dexless equips.

@arceus890 : A 61 atk Craven is perfectly fine. I know that money is really short right now for most NWs/NLs but that claw is fine. And with 5mil, there's not really any good claws you can buy.

I have a Night Walker with a Red Craven that is +61 ATK. Is that enough ATK, or should i go buy a new one? I got that one for 12 mil.

Edit: I know it says on the guide to get one that's 70-80 ATK but I've only got 5mil left.

Edit: What claw should i get with 5mil? I still have a scarab but its badly scrolled. I'm level 82.

@jh92 : Like I said in previous posts, most Night Walkers will be training at Ludi from Lvls 105-120. And those maps have platforms with a big gap between them. So, just use it when you go to the next platform. You don't need to use Vanish all the time, no. I don't either. I just use it when alternating between platforms.

@arceus890 : Yes, the top should be scrolled for Luk.

its much faster to spam TT/avenger then to do vanish>atk>vanish>atk

@ImmaSoNoob : Thank you for that recommendation! I'll be sure to add that in tomorrow!

@jh92 : I'm just showing the math of what ImmaSoNoob said so it doesn't seem like I'm saying something that's already been said...

When you use Max Vanish(130% Dmg) the following attacks are boosted by:
Lucky Seven : 170*130/100 = 221%(51% Damage more than a vanish-less attack).
Avenger : 350*130/100 = 455%(105% Damage more than a vanish-less attack).
Triple Throw : 185*130/100 = 240.5 or 240%(55% Damage more than a vanish-less attack).
Vampire(Level 12) : 52*130/100 = 67.6% or 68% Damage(16% Damage more than a vanish-less attack).
Poison Bomb(I know it isn't used much anymore but there's still a damage increase on the initial throw damage) : 170*130/100 = 221%(51% Damage more than a vanish-less attack).

EDIT: To all; Apparently there's a certain ammount you can put into a original thread post...so, as I can't update until this gets stickied the guide will be left as it is. The guide works just fine the way it is and hopefully I'll get a reply back from Kevvl telling me if it's possible to get a sticky to continue expanding upon this.

Sorry for the inconvience and I'll update as soon as possible.

@anisbro007 : and for the third job training i would recommend pirates in "red nose pirate den 3" (for level 102/103) because you can get both plats and you can fj to other side, while in the second map, you can only get 1 platform at a time. then you can dgp until 114 or straight to LHC. and in LHC, you kill thecrocodile things at level 113/114 until 120.

@ImmaSoNoob : Yes, Chaos will once again change training much like the Recontruction for Warriors/Mages/Bowmen/Theives/Pirates will as well. I'll message Spadow to see if there's any future planning for a change in PB. But like you said, it's not likely.

@anisbro007 : then they have to change a lot of skills which would change training AGAIN. for example, the bw flame curtain skill. but i highly doubt they'll change it and i havent seen any kms changes in pb for chaos (i think?).

anisbro007

@ImmaSoNoob : Hahah, no worries. (: But yes, PB is useless from Post-BB. But when Chaos comes around it'll be back to the way it orignially was(I may be mistaken). However, using the points intended for PB and putting them into Vanish would work just as well, if not better, than putting those points into PB.

@anisbro007 : ohhh woops LOL. i see another alternative, raise vamp first and take that SP from 91-93 and put it in vanish. TAA DAAAA ! WIN !

@ImmaSoNoob : Did you not read where I stated that if you use DS then Vampire you'll have even more damage thus also a greater increase in HP gained?

Reply March 28, 2011 - edited

@anisbro007 : vamp decreases your pot usage. that % more damage on your first TT/avenger only saves you like a few milliseconds and i can get over 2k hp PER vamp.

Reply March 28, 2011 - edited
anisbro007

@ImmaSoNoob : And you don't need to recast DS after every TT. Most people will be training in Ludi from Lvls 100-120 so when you jump down from platform to platform just recast then. It'll increase your training speed actually. In maps like WPoT(3), Unbalanced Time, WPoT(4), Twisted Time, etc. Vanish will not only increase your overall Exp/Hour but it'll also decrease your Pot usage because you're killing the mobs faster.
@arceus890 : As long as you can get enough Dex to wear a Lvl 80/90 top & bottom you'll be okay. Then scroll the Top for Luk and the Bottom for Dex. Try to aim for a good Red Craven(140 Dex) or Green/Purple Dragon Sleve(150 Dex) for Claws as well.

@ImmaSoNoob : The thing is, an extra 8% Damage on Vampire isn't going to make a significant difference on Pot Usage/Hp Draining. On the flip side, Vanish at Lvl 1 is only at 103% damage which isn't a lot. Put it at a max level(10) and it's at 130% damage. Using Dark Sight and then using Vampire to increase Vampire's damage is actually what I recommend. If you use DS and then Vampire you'll actually have Vampire's damage at 67.6% or, 68% damage rounded, which is already better than max Vampire.

@iLikeCheese123 : Vampire has a bigger delay than Dark Sight which is what I meant by a huge delay.

-Edit-
The reason the guide wasn't updated was because I have recently gotten strep. Now that I'm starting to get better, I'll have the day off tomorrow to work on doing the updates I have scheduled to do.

@arceus890 : Getting an extra 40-50 Dex isn't a fairly big problem for most players. Granted I don't know how much funding you have but here's an easy way to get some extra Dex.

Hat: Zhelm/Scar +15 Dex
Pendent: MoN +5 Dex
Cape: +5-10 Dex(Depending on scrolling success)
Shoes: +3-7 Dex
Bottom: +5-15 Dex(Depending on scrolling success)

Those equips right there don't cost a lot(I don't know Beran prices, they may be different) and should only cost about 50mil. Most people who Scar are normally short 1-2 people so if they ask for someone just ask to loot a helm. MoN runs are normally about 15-25mil(which is the most expensive item on the list). The others can come with that ammount of Dex or you can scroll them to get the extra Dex which could cost anywhere from 5-30mil.

@anisbro007: These looks like funded equips (claws), recommend any unfunded ones? Also, if I were to get one of those claws, they require 140 Dex or 150 Dex when you said to cap my Dex 90-100.

@Leet64 : Well, mainly Vanish is just for an extra % of attack when you need to go into it. It's like when falling down from platform to platform, like in Ludi, just use DS on the way down to get the extra attack.

@arceus890 : What is your base Dex right now? If your base Dex is around 90-100 I'd say just stop adding Dex and focus completely on Luk.
oddbuild =/= official build?

Having trouble reading fractions? Right where it says "0/3" and "3/6"--those are called fractions. Sorry for not pointing that out, I shouldn't have expected you to see them.

You're absolutely right, disorder is pretty bad. It's pretty hard to punch the big, slow mobs at LHC or the practically stationary zakum or any of the four cwk bosses while they're pinned to the side. /endsarc
First off, there's no need to be an ass. Secondly, you could of shown me where this fraction problem was. But no, you just expected me to know where it was. I have now found where this mistake was. I'm sorry that not everything in this guide isn't perfect, it's a work in progress still. Lastly, Disorder doesn't work on LHC mobs, Zakum or CWK Bosses. So, thank you very much for your immense and vast knowledge of Night Walkers/Lords but I'll stick with the way this guide is now. /endsarc.
@anisbro007: Like I said, it's an oddbuild which doesn't belong in the official thread. DS + Vanish has been an essential part of the NW mini-class since big bang. This guide should be informative, not misleading.
I understand what you're saying for the difference between Vampire/Vanish but in my time playing I've met some NWs who decided to max Vamp. over Vanish. So, as long as there's a couple who have done that, I'll keep the second build.
EDIT: I see what your "End Results" mean. You should use the word "or" instead of a backslash because you're using numbers and those look like fractions?
You lost me there. I tried going back to see what you're talking about but I can't figure out what you're trying to say.
EDIT2: I also went back and checked to see if this was the case (which it is), but basilmarket's skills page is wrong at the moment. In the first job, you should max Disorder over darkness. Come on, -10% DEF? That's not really optional.
But if you decide to max Disorder that means you'll be running up to the monsters to punch them. Thus causing a monster to most likely hit you as well as slowing down training time. Especially if you're killing a big mob. You're not going to run up to each monster and punch them before going to kill. It just makes no sense to do so.

@DrKI3yBl4ze : As soon as I get my Night Walker that high I'll be sure to take a video or just post how to do it. Thanks for the idea!

@FarShot20 : Not exactly. Poison Bomb's accuracy is affected by the BB patch as well. Likewise, it's DoT(Damage over time) was changed from the monster's Hp to your overall damage range. Unless you have an absolutely humongous range(IE: 15k+) then Poison Bomb won't do much damage.

@EternalEvan : I like to keep up to date with the guide. f3

@FuryMS : Ah, well okay. I guess when I get to 100/120 I'll just do it. Thanks however!

@Bobofrice : Well, let's go through the Pros and Cons of both skills.

Vanish:
Pros:
-If you do need to go into Dark Sight you can get an attack at 130% damage when you leave it.
-Lower Master Level making it easier to max.
-A little bit of a delay.
Cons:
-Not many people use Dark Sight while training due to it slowing down EXP/hour.

Vampire:
Pros:
-Mobbing attack, do I need to say any more?
-Basically a Night Walker's Drain.
Cons:
-HUGE delay.
-Higher Master Level making it take longer to max.
-Only hits at 60% damage(meaning your Damage Range) at max level.

Bascially, if you take the recommended skill build(The max everything but Vampire build) you can skill put Vampire at Level 12 at 52% Damage. And, 8% damage won't be that much of a difference unless you have an abnomally high range.
