Did I make a mistake with Battle Mage?
I'm level 140 on my BaM now and I realized that as I progress from PQs to training at maps, it would seem that I have no mobbing skills....On the other hand..BaM excel at bossing better than any other mage class right...?Right.....? Having regrets >..>. Maybe I should have made a Luminous?

Battle mages are a lot like warriors - they fight at closer quarters. You can mob pretty well if your enemies are close to you. That is why you have the two iterations of Dark Chain as well as Dark Shock - to cover distances and pull mobs together. You also have Dark Genesis if you need a quick screen wipe and, of course, your Reaper will occasionally auto-attack with a long, sweeping strike.
Since you're 140, go give Dimension Invasion PQ a try. You'll see what a Battle Mage can do there.
Horizontal mobbing is much better if u tele cast + finishing and throw in your chain moves (burst and chains)
Vertical Mobbing got decreased for lvl 170+ but its much better from 10-169 with the revamp.
Bossing 1v1 is much better now given its higher mobility, less buffs, more passives and a reaper that mobs even with battle rage on.
However its not necessarily the best bosser depending on how u look at it. If you want to solo choose a class with a bind (kanna, lumi) or with 100% ele resist (BW, I/L, F/P, Evan,). If you boss as a party preferred bishop(lives buffs healing), bam (party shield to tank 1hit moves and auras depending on your situation) or kanna (multiple binds and beneficial shields).

They have pretty decent mobbing. If you're not telecasting with Dark Shock then you either lag or aren't playing correctly and the reaper does quite a number on mobs.
The Rush skill is very strong. Use that for mobbing. FB range isn't very good for mobbing :s

I believe that was reduced to 6 with the recent "revamp" but your point holds true.
Mobbing isn't terrible, but it isn't too terribly fun either

mobbing is somewhat decent. What I do is spam battle burst and finishing blow, cause they can be linked together. Telporting with dark shock with the occasional reaper and dark genesis.

Battlemage are certainly not the best mages at bossing. That title goes to f/p or i/l, who can do double the damage a battlemage can with the same equips. They use the same skill until you get battle king bar, and ever since the revamp they've put a cool down on that too, so most of the time you will still be using the same skill over and over.
