I/l Balance Thoughts?

Newest balance for I/Ls:

Archmage (I/L) is strong due to Elemental Reset so we have adjusted it. In addition, to make Chain Lightning more useful while hunting, we have increased its mob count.

Extreme Magic (IL) Extreme Magic (I/L): instant kill chance has been removed
Elemental Reset Elemental Reset: elemental property reduction has been decreased from 100% to 10%, now has a new passive effect that increases final damage by 50%
Chain Lightning Chain Lightning: number of monsters hit has been increased from 5 to 6
Lightning Spear Lightning Sphere: damage has been decreased from 300% to 250%
Ice Aura Ice Aura: cast animation has been removed, MP consumption has been changed to 60 MP per second

this is me hitting damage cap on hell gollux without elemental reset and all other buffs. I have 21k int and 280%boss, pretty sure u can cap with that stats after the update.

Yeah I very much know that ;-;
The added mob count should still have __some__ effect though

What we really need is a change to how the lightning bounces - similar to Lumis Reflection.

they nerf mages as hell, While NL can still 100% cap with like 16k luk?......................

right now its 50m spamable mist, they reduced mist dmg by like 40% and its not spammable anymore,
before capping was 50m x 9, now its gonna be 70x8 ,harder to cap,5sec cd
so people that could barely cap now before, will do ~30m, and now DOT set up takes even more time to set up

@madzda: Well, training in for example SDH, you rarely see Chain Lightning hit "max mobs" the range usually cuts off before the max mob count does But yeah maybe a bit better. We'll just have to see. We wont get any of these changes for quite a while still.

I agree that the range is low, and that is the primary issue. But surely having it hit 1 more monster, will increase its effectiveness... I guess it would also depend on how the lightning bounces.

I believe it will hit as many monsters as Lumi Reflection, but Lumi Reflection bounces a lot better...

@funkyflame yes, we are the idiots can't really blame nexon when we keep coming back for more.

Alas, I will probably also sell off a few equips for textbook fund ($600). Also need a 280z w/rb26dett swap. May just sell it all!

Hardly. The issue with chain lightning mobbing was never the monsters hit per attack, it's the fact that the range is quite short. Which I accept, it's otherwise a good skill.

Technically, if you hit 70m per line right now (AKA capped at 50, theoretical 70), its a buff...

Well, after both this and reboot, I/L damage will be reduced to 70% against bosses with eleresist (outside of lightning orb) compared to its current state. The number of hits per minute goes up significantly though, so if you're godly enough, then its perfectly fine.

I think it's complete bullcrap, to be honest. If they do that, they need to adjust bosses as well, or change it from 10% to something at least higher.
Also 50% damage? that's way too OP, we're not asking to be gods, just want to be balanced.

I mean come freaking on, they change aura's MP consumption? who the hell cares about that?
