Shades are a great class in terms of survivability and their damage isn't too bad either. The only bad thing about shades is that they get boring because they get really repetitive
Shade is overall a stronger class. However, I found buccs to be a really enjoyable class to play.
If you haven't tried either, try both. Otherwise, just choose the one you have the most fun playing (or the one you're willing to fund depending on the type of player you are).

shade. trust me, its better than blasting a ray of disappointment when you can't charge up the super blast

Anyways, shade is better pretty much everywhere I think. I'm slightly bias as I dislike what nexon did to buccs a couple years ago.
