3ds Data Transfer Question

So I know that it's possible to transfer data from 1 sd card to another, but does that mean you can just copy the game to another sd card to trade/sell?

One example would be my friend wants to play LoZ:LbW. I have a downloadable copy saved on my sd card. If i were to just copy+paste the files over to his sd card, would be simply be able to play it like that, or would it not load for him, or I would lose my data?

I've already transferred some games from the 2gb sd it comes with to a 4gb, so that's why I was asking to see if I kept the files on the 2gb as well, would it still read the game and I would be able to give it to a friend. Not talking about transferring a game, more so copying it and sending it

if that was the case, Nintendo would be making no money lmao

the data on the SD card is linked with the 3DS. so refer to what the first poster said

You'd have to do a system transfer to be able to play downloaded games on another 3ds.
