Are old players stronger than new players?
Since they rolled the dice to a stat over 4 (usually around 7) that means they have a few base stat points over what new players started out with (4 all).
Also I'd like to state a pet peeve of mine, if you thought that Maple Leaf Training Camp as nostalgic, then you're new to me. And that place is too spoiler for the exploring point, doesn't matter at all now though.

Nah they've automatically reset AP in the past.
One time the game gave away 4extra AP so definitely.
