how to reduce my ping?

I restarted my router and my computer tons of times, My ping used to be really low but now It increased to the point where whenever I'm on maple, skype or other programs I have a huge delay.

@Blackinup Try calling your ISP and have them run a line test on the cables running to your house. Connectors and cables can go bad from the weather or just getting old and they can fix it it that turns out to be the problem.

I hear good things about WTFast, although I've never downloaded it, but perhaps it'll work for you. Plus, its free.
@shyally: Probably Comcast/xfinity is the only decent one around. I might just switch to ATT
ATT is garbage, i repeat utter trash. High Ping, constant disconnects and awful download speed's/upload. I'm here using Comcast getting 10-15 Ping and 115MBPS/12mb upload for the same price an ATT Uverse user gets 18MBPS and who knows how high of a ping.

If it's not just maple, then it's just that your ISP is terrible. Contact their customer support and complain That's about all you can do.

@Blackinup Is there anyone else in your house using the Internet at the same time you're trying to use it..?
Anyone doing a lot of downloading, streaming videos, or torrenting will make everyone in the house go a lot slower.

And yes, if you have an unprotected WiFi router, you might be supplying Internet to everyone in your neighborhood, making everyone slow.

You should go to command prompt, and type in "ipconfig/release", then after that, type in "ipconfig/renew" let it load for a while then type in " ipconfig/flushdns" this will successfully flush the dns resolver cache.

maybe your isp is performing a maintenance in your area thats affecting it. ping is usually determined by global distance between computers and / or servers and your provided connection speed.
