Max Weapon/Magic Defense and Avoidability

If you have over max weapon/magic defense and avoidability, does it affect your stats at all? Like when the numbers appear red and blue at 9999?

@BlazinBlood: Shadow Shifter skills are separate. It's a skill. It activates completely independantly at chance. So if you had cap avoid you'd have 90% avoid rate + 40% Shadow Shifter rate so on average, 94% avoid.
Meso Guard works just like any %Damage Reduction skill. Defense is calculated first, then cut down by your %Damage Reduction.

@Lamato

Are you sure it's not the other way around? I activate the Shadow Shifter skill way more often than I activate the guard option from avoidability.

@SlipperySlime

It's the opposite for me. For defense, it's "9999 (7000+2999)" in a red color (it doesn't show the actual amount that I have). However, for avoidability, it does it like the way you said. In a blue color, it's "9999 (12000-2001)".
So if the avoid rate is capped at 90%, what about skills like Shadow Shifter? Are they separate from the cap of 90% avoid?

As for defense, is the meso guard damage reduction calculated before or after weapon/magic defense?

If I has known all of this before, I should've posted this in the Shadower section.
Yes, Shadow Shifter and other similar skills work off a different system. You can activate the 10% that you'll get hit, but you'll also have the 45% fakeout effect of the skill as a backup. Not sure about Meso Guard but I assume it's calculated after both defenses.

Avoid rate is capped at 90%.
Defense is not as simple as that. Defense is effected by monster ATT and not % based. 9999 Defense is very good, but my Paladin has 19,999 defense and lets just say Golems at TP do 1 damage to him.

Thank you.

On a side note, does anyone know the exact effects max defense and avoidability gives?

When you capped a stat it won't increase the effect any more when gaining more points into that stat, it will simply lower itself until it's back to 9999 (or 19999 for Paladins defences).
Thank you.
