When doing the Daily Event, I notice that there's a text that states "Receive from Another Character". What does this mean exactly?

When doing the Daily Event, I notice that there's a text that states "Receive from Another Character". What does this mean exactly?

I assume this only applies to characters in the same world? At any rate, thanks!
