@bluebomber24: I definitely agree. For the most part, it's not really possible for an individual to carry his team's weight alone to victory. The beauty of Turf War is that no matter what weapon you use, you're going to have a useful role in your team's strategy and for that reason, it's not so much about whether a weapon is good or not, but rather, it comes down to the synergy in your team's performance.

@PlayThatMelody: that's not really rollers but more on your team. If your sniping 14 that means your delaying the other team and giving your team a lot of time to cover areas. I have seen quite a few videos of splatter shooters that knew what they were doing pick off rollers easily. It shouldn't be solely on the snipers shoulders unless your team isn't good. The video illustrates this. His team had one roller and the other two. He did not cover a lot of area, yet his team crushed the other. His teammates, perhaps unknowingly, took advantage of his sniping.

If you get 14 kills in this early stage, as far as im concerned, you did your job. Either the opp is better or your team failed you. Perhaps the matching in ranked mode will balance it out as well since you get matched with your peers with the sane rank as you.

OT:

From what i have seen, the meta will ultimately be:

Rollers primarily for painting
Sniper primarily for killing
Shooter for paiting and killing with defense/ support
Shooter for painting and killing but more offensive options than the above shooter

IMO, Paint Roller is a easy-acess newbie weapon. Once players get used to the game and more weapons are available, I expect a decrease. Roller is like Little Mac in smash bros; played by a lot in the beginning and then not so much later.[/quote]

I managed to get 14 snipes in a round as well but still ended up losing that match by 30% because of how easy rollers were able to take my turf. The number of rollers will definitely decrease in the future (especially in ranked battle) but with the constant "jump-returns" and the wide ground coverage, they're going to be a favorite in Turf Wars for a long time. Keeping rollers at bay with a Splat Charger is just tedious unless you have a good team to back you up and/or you rarely miss.

@Hermes that's nice to know.
i had my doubts about this game until i played the demo cause i really dislike 1st person shooters. i tend to have no idea how to move the character or the gun. i actually enjoyed splatoon with the roller. it was fun running over people. i still had trouble with guns though.

Everyone loves paint rollers. Although, I found that any team that has 3 Paint rollers or 3 snipers are pretty high chance to lose.

I tried all weapons but the Sniper. My performance was pretty garbage but I blame the controller sensor thing. It did improve in the end as I started to get the hang of it. The game is really fun. I can see why Nintendo limited the play time to odd 1 hours. I could easily play it for 3 hours plus before getting bored for the day.
