@qtwarriorxx9001: I know right....The original date I had all the free time in the world and probaly could have gotten the max amount of Sea Snails before a win bonus. With this one.....hopefully I can get w/e I can.

You can earn up to 12 sea snails, if you're on the winning side you get the double amount of what you earned, so up to 24. Geez, I better start playing some more Splatton and up my game.

I believe that is for artistic reasons similar to bloopers in Mario. Basically its for ppl to identify with them faster. Also without it the inklings potentially could look ugly without an alternative coloring for the eyes. If black ink is never used, its the best color to choose.

There is a blooper easter egg in the game too.
