To buy a Wii U or not to buy a Wii U

For those of you who have bought/considered buying a Wii U, why did you do so? Did you consider buying a refurbished one from nintendo themself from cheaper? Would you look for the cheapest one off Craigslist? Is it worth buying the extra memory, and what games do you find most fun/addictive? Let me know all of your opinions

P.S. I love casual Smash but I wouldn't play it every day most likely, not too many of my irl friends have the system, and I have a long history with Pokemon... never tried out Legend of Zelda, but it seems interesting :O

I had to buy a Wii U because my old Wii stopped reading discs. I got the Wind Waker HD bundle thing, the one with the hyruleglyphics around the game pad.
Super Mario 3D World was pretty fun, finding all the green stars and stamps gave the game replay value, and you can also play through every level with each character to get their last stamp. Every character plays a little differently. All the power ups were great, I liked the cat power up the most.
New Super Mario Bros. U is pretty much like the classic Super Mario Bros. but with better graphics and new power ups. I didn't play it that much. There's also New Super Luigi U which has more challenging courses.
Mario Kart 8, what I think, is like a mix of F-Zero and Mario Kart. It does look pretty amazing, but I didn't play it that much because of another game. It's kind of weird to see Link driving. I think there's also a Hyrule course or something. And also the Blue Falcon kart.
Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze has some awesome music. http://youtu.be/2YfA_jd2klQ I actually bought it because I heard Stickerbush Symphony was in this game, but I still kind of like the original version better. If you've played the Donkey Kong Country games on the SNES, then you'll like this game. If not, then probably not a game for everyone.
Hyrule Warriors is friggin awesome. 17 something playable characters and some of them have different costumes, so many different weapons to find and choose from, so many different attacking combos, so many enemies to kill, a level 150 cap for warriors, finding all the Gold Skulltulas and completing Illustrations and unlocking new reward maps. Adventure Mode is huge and takes a lot of time. Master Quest Map, Twilight Map, and I think there's also a Majora's Mask Map in Adventure Mode too. The music is great. Cia is so damn hot, look away children. I'm playing this game right now. It's Dynasty Warriors but with a Legend of Zelda theme/skin. Dynasty Warriors is one of those beat em up games with a frig ton of enemies.
Bayonetta 2 is a must have, it's hilarious and sexy. It also comes with the first game, Bayonetta 1. Bayonetta 2 takes place around Christmas time I think, Cereza and Jeanne are talking about a Christmas party, it's pretty much a perfect Christmas present. Enzo is funny as hell, damn fat Italian man. There's also Nintendo costumes, Princess Peach, Princess Daisy, Galactic Bounty Hunter Samus and the Hero of Time Link. These costumes have some special things about them, like being able to use the Arm Cannon instead of the guns to shoot and the Morph Ball instead of Panther Within while wearing the Samus costume, or slashing the frig out of angels with the Master Sword while wearing the Link costume. And the Starfox costume, holy frig, when you wear this costume on the last chapter, it changes the jet into an Arwing, and it plays just like a Starfox game. And there's a whole lot of weapons to find and play around with, there's even a Chain Chomp that's chained around your ankle, I think it also attacks passively, but the best part is the fragrance effect, it gives you a Mario hat with the letter B on it, a mustache, and a "Mama Mia" taunt, or I think the taunt comes with the Chain Chomp, I don't really remember but it sounds sexy. Also very epic boss battles, fighting against both demons and angels and a kite. Also learning about her family, it explains a lot of things for the first game. The game looks absolutely amazing. I actually like the Gates of Hell chapters, so pretty.
And then there's Super Smash Bros. for Wii U which you already know about.
Well, that's all the Wii U games I have so far and my experiences with some of the games. I'd probably recommend Hyrule Warriors, Bayonetta 2, Super Smash Bros., Mario Kart 8, and if you want to just have some fun Super Mario 3D World too.
@thekingslayer Some people watch superhero movies which I find childish, others have their mothers do their laundry till the age of 40. I like video games, I don't see a problem with that .-.

@everyoneelse thank you x3 it seems to be a fun system then, and I forgot about Mario kart 8! It seems so sleek compared to the old games~

Would anyone have any advice on purchasing a wii u, and is it better to buy games as disks or off of the Nintendo store?
Also, if u want a bit of detailed analysis/reviews to get more of a feel, I would look at GameXplain videos. They tend to be solid with their analysis and surprisingly fair with their reviews.

If your going to buy a Wii U, especially a new one, buy a 32 GB bundle. If you like Mario Kart 8, which has a pretty large fanbase and seems to have a lot of DLC that makes the game long lasting over time, I recommend the Wii U Mario Cart Bundle. There is also the Wind Waker Bundle, I heard the Wii U version was fantastic. Another game that you may want to look at is Monster Hunter. This is another game, that ppl won't shut up about and also has DLC that makes the game last. Keep in mind when I say DLC, these are not money grabs, outside of them being a business, these are genuine DLC that enhances a complete and usually fun game.

For me personally, I prefer the physical copy of the game, unless its a virtual console game in which you have to download. For example, I bought the physical copy of smash, but they had on sale old Megaman games for like 3 bucks, which I would have to buy and download. Being a recent Wii U player, I don't know how much memory I have luxury, but as I said before I am a RPGer at heart and prefer 60+ hours of story gameplay which eats up a lot of memory fast. Thus, I rather have the game on the CD instead of the system.

The Wii U has had a strong year for games... probably stronger than the PS4 or 360, admittedly. It might not be a bad idea... especially if you like solid multiplayer titles.

No regrets man. 2014 was their first great year and 2015 seems to be even better. So far Nintendo is destroying the competition in terms of fun games imo. New Zelda, Starfox, and Xenoblade are the biggest games known for next year so far that I can think of.

Who buys wiiu's? ....what? Isnt that stuff for toddlers? When I see a wiiu in a house its usually because the parents bought it for their 5 or 7 year old. Didnt know people older than that played it. As far as consoles all I see is x1 and ps4.

Well Wind Waker HD was pretty cool. I still need to get Bayonetta 2, Hyrule Warriors Sonic Lost World and Rayman Legends.
But right Mario Kart 8 and Smash are eating all my time. Also Captain Toad and Mario Maker seem pretty interesting.

I only play Smash. I would probably have buyers regret as I only have interest in one game that is currently out, but 2015 suits my tastes. I plan on getting Zelda and Xenosaga as I love RPGs especially open world. I also like Starfox. Outside of that, virtual console games have caught my eye. I have interest in Mighty No. 9 when its released

Buying a used one does not make Nintendo make money. So I would buy the new or refurbished
