Hell levels whats your tactics

Im nearing hell levels atm im 189, 190+ is hell levels to me 1~189 was a breeze and I was wondering what are your tactics to long grinding sessions... LONGGGG grinding sessions cause its only 10% an hour now but on my last 200 I would sell leech to pass the time. What do you do to pass the time?

Watch anime, read a book.
Not like you'll be doing much besides mashing one button at SH anyway.

I personally level through bosses and PVP. Takes days, even weeks for a single level but it doesn't really matter.
I'll get to 200 eventually, might as well have fun while doing it.

@rennac123 longer then that and I had already mentioned I reached 200 in a span on two days of pure grinding the only reason why I had no motivation was because I have multiple 200's

@CountOnMe2: Never mind, the point was missed. It has been like , what, 2 weeks? It's not worth explaining my point anymore.

@rennac123 110-120 is entirely different from 190-200 since you can get from 110-120 in under an hour with friends easily and as for the way to pass the time yeah I watched a movie and covered my exp bar with a quest log

@CountOnMe2: Its a subjective term, my point is its much much easier to get to 200 from 190 then it is to get to 120 from 110, regardless of "how well you know how to train" etc. So getting 10% an hour at 190 is already quick enough, one would think the excitement alone would be enough to keep people going.

But to answer your question, I find, along with my friends; that skyping really helps pass the time, as does sticking a movie you like to listen to into the dvd player and having it play in the background.

@rennac123 quicker.... What? Anyways I wasn't really trying to complain all I was trying to do was see what other people did to grind for long continuous hours thats all

If you can stand try doing at least 20 PQs a day.

For me I just chose to party with guildies / friends strong enough to solo the map.
We were all college students and we'd just take turns leeching each other as one of us had to go to class / study / etc.
It's really nice to go asleep 0% and wake up with 20~30%.

We would constantly talk if we all were actually at the computer and sometimes we would skype but I think we preferred typing a little bit more.
It took us less than a week from 190-200 and probably would of taken less time but that was back when the servers were unstable and we constantly had to regroup and remade due to afkness.

I wouldn't recommend this if you don't have a lot of free time, trustworthy friends or can't leave your computer on overnight.

@CountOnMe2: Training has always been easy if you knew how; I was talking about the obvious disparity that there currently is. It shouldn't quicker to get from 190 to 200 then it is for 110 to 120.

Level 70 pre-BB was the same as 198-200 is now... 10% an hour was GOOD training... Now 10% an hour is average. Just go back to old grinding method like I do... Put music that you enjoy on and space out for awhile... Or watch something in the background while mindlessly pressing muscle memory buttons.

Lvl 55-70 and lvl 158-160 was very slow, it took like forever

I just do some PQs, quests, and wait for another stormgrowth potion

@rennac123 I did play pre-bb I'm aware of the exp difference but even then leveling was easy if you knew where to train and you were funded.

train effectively
train in events which gives extra exp
usually i look at the exp the monsters give not that scary exp bar
gives me a lot of motivation of training
@rennac123 lol I dont remember complaining anywhere in my thread saying "hell levels" is just a phrase saying that the levels at this range take a much more abnormal amount of time. Please read the thread before making an assumption

Its implied. If you played before big bang (just as an example), you know how much slower it was, at levels like 120. 10% an hour at 190 is phenomenal compared to what it used to be. It doesn't need to be any quicker.

@sirjaygatsby I know that since I played both pre-bb and BB but once you've been spoiled what do you expect.

10%/hr used to be the EXP you'd get at Himes when you were 11X before all this easiness came about with MapleStory. Not to knock at you or anything but there are no more hell levels. I suggest you do what other people used to do and that is play with friends so that it doesn't feel like you're grinding but more just hanging out and killing things.

ALWAYS use events to your advantage

6x event + HS + Pendant of the spirit =1.5-1.6m exp per kill at SH

you could probably gain 1 lv every 1.5-2 hours

Yeeee trained 18+ hours and got 199 thanks for all the advice but the one I personallu found useful was the covering exp tactic

Were you on 1x with only hs?

OT: Have something playing on your monitor or TV so you don't get bored

@yoyoyo25965: I would if the quest in order to get into it wasn't glitched! Oh, and not to mention actually finding people 165+ who're willing to actually train on 1x with just HS.

I say don't rush it. After getting to 200 on my Mercedes I only did CWK, PvP, and fmed. This may sound weird, but I actually missed training! My Battle Mage is also 189, but I am in no rush to get him to 200, slow and steady
Ot: listen to music, Talk to friends, ect. things that help you improve the game, not distract you from it xD

@x3inferno haha yeah i played pre-bb but that was a long time ago I don't know that feeling anymore and even back then it was easy to level for me at least if you knew where you were training at least. 0.01% each kill to 0.005% each kill aint delightful mate.

Lol even 190-200 isn't hell anymore. Back prebb you would get .01 and 10 kills would be .1%. Lmfao Hell levels this is cute.

What I do is have Maple is a smaller screen, beside Maple I have movies/shows playing. I'm a bowmaster, so all I do is pretty much hold down hurricane, so I can watch TV when I train. It helps to have auto HP on you r pet to do this, as you tend to get distracted (which is the point). Before 170, you could level once per day if you really tried, and that's how I've always leveled. As I got to my 190's however, I realised that just wasn't viable for me, so I set daily goals for myself.

I stop training at around 160. I mean, I'll go to LHC or SH with some people from my guild, but I primarily just do what I want, and let exp take a back seat. I boss, do pq's, do event quests, get crusader codex sets, upgrade equips, etc. You're 189. Most of, if not all of your important skills are maxed, and you should just stop worrying about leveling so much. I can see if you're level 199, grinding out the last level, but just take a break from grinding.

I'm 171 (First character to ever reach this far) and it already feels like I'm in the "hell" levels. It's so hard finding decent parties at glitched/super glitched bear wolves during the day time, and in the evening they're almost always full. >.<

If you're ever BW training and happen to need someone who can provide HS, who will train for extended periods of time, hit me up. I've got a Bishop which I don't mind bringing, so long as my Evan can get in on the party EXP too.

@valkryievide i would but my tv is in the other room :c

Does anyone find that glitched BW's like massive glitched is much faster then SH at some point lol and less stressful since they have half the hp

usually i'd set up a training party with some friends ahead of time. etc and when i'm training i make a Music playlist that lasts 1-2 hours.

Trained EVERY 2x, but thats the only time i would train, and try to Max all the 120+ pqs every day there was 2x.

I'm not in hell levels, but I do hate grinding forever, so I usually just LHC with my guild and we keep up a conversation, or just watch tv while you mindlessly go around the map

Take advantage of all the 2x/3x/6x exp when they have it (I slacked off on the 3-week long 3x compensation back in January). Train with people you know, like guildies and friends, its easier to pass time like this, imo (skype sessions works, too). That's what I did

Reply April 4, 2012 - edited

@snortingsfan I usually at SH only on 6x or 2x otherwise super glitched BW's is the way I go because I leech friends there and random people that come by that needa get to 120
