Choosing between Ice/lightning and Luminous

Hey guys, I wanted to start a second main and I settled on either an ice/lightning mage or luminous. I decided to pick between these two classes mainly because of their "cool" mobbing attack.

Now here's the thing. Both seem to be really similar in terms of training. I know luminous' will have an easier time moving around the map due to their teleport skill but does that justify making an ice/lightning? It'd be nice if someone can list the pros and cons of both classes so I can read over them to have an easier time making my choice

Also, my current main is an adventurer so if I go with the ice/lightning mage I'll have the benefit transferring my cash items over. Teleport rock, store permit, etc..

i found the cast delay for chain lightning and frozen orb to be quite slow, and only magic booster makes the delay a bit more bearable
it should be noted that Luminous also have a skill that increases his/her damage cap and can hit more enemies than I/L - mostly useful for bossing

Chain Lightning, the main attacking skill only hits 5 until much later, when hyper skill increases the number of enemies hit to 7
while Luminous can hit 8 right of the bat with Apocalypse (dark) or Reflection (light), both of which hit up to 8 enemies. later on, with hyper skill,
the max number of enemies hit by apocalypse increases to 10. of course, the I/L might do more damage, but eventually, both I/L and Luminous will 1-hit the mobs, and
the number of enemies hit becomes far more important than the actual damage dealt. I'd think hitting more mobs would be very useful, particularly when training in places like SH with
a Kanna mule (supposedly they can increase the mobs) on a mob-dense map. then again, assuming it's true that the cast delay for I/L is much shorter, maybe the number of enemies hit won't make that much of a difference. idk about Luminous, but the range for Chain Lightning is way too short - you literally need to stand quite close to the enemy to hit it with Chain Lightning. (Frozen Orb is better in that regard)
i/l have a teleport range of 170 (180 with hyper skill) on the ground, and a vertical range of 275 (285 with hyper skill)
Luminous has a teleport range of 300 on the ground, and a 500 vertical range, with additional increase in jump and speed
so no, Luminous is faster. way faster. the teleport range of explorer mages is a joke, really
"stronger" would depend on the amount of funding

storm cloud is weak, slow and useless in training.
for bossing, you pretty much just spam chain lightning + frozen orb. and maybe freezing breath if in a party.
You forgot that explorer mages can jump tele while lumis can't. It adds quite a bit a distance and it's far from being a "joke". I have both lumi and I/L at 200+ and have played them both enough to know that I/L has a much faster playstyle than lumis. And by faster, I mean attack speed and playstyle. Chain lightning has a much shorter delay than reflection and all of lumi's other skills. They have horrendously long delays between each cast.

-I/L has a longer bind than lumi + you're invincible whilst binding
-It's an explorer(shared cs, as you mentioned)
-For bossing you use more than one skill; it's not as repetitive
-Skill animations are beautiful
-You can switch to a bishop or F/P anytime(post lvl 100)
-Lvl 200 ice aura.. that 20% stance, man.
-Summons a storm cloud. Who doesn't want this?
Do not listen to this uncultured swine! F/P mage is the mage you want to go! You can go around farting everywhere and then LIGHTING YOUR FARTS ON FIRE.

Bossing as a luminous isn't repetitive. Different bosses require you to utilize different skills, and managing lunar tides for equilibrium also changes things up for bossing.

Go read the best guides you can for each class. The people that make them are probably the people who like the class the most. That's what I did for f/p
