Eating in at restaurants

Does anybody else hate eating out, waiting for a table, constantly being bothered by waiters asking you if you need anything
and when you look at the menu it's like $15 for a plate of pasta, and then you chose the least expensive item
or when they ask if you want anything to drink, you say water because even soda costs $4

and having to tip, even though they really didnt do anything for you; kind of made you uncomfortable actually, because they keep checking in on you.

idk, i just much rather eat at restaurants that don't have waiters. no awkwardness of ordering 2 entrees for 4 people, and asking for 4 glasses of water because it's free

I like some places where you can just sit at a booth with your friend/family and just relax over a drink and french toast or something lol

I yelp and google the restaurant beforehand if it's one I've never been to.
In Asian restaurants, waiters tend to only come when you ask them to, unless you're going to one of those dim sum places where they push the carts around.

I'm the opposite. I love going out to eat, especially when I get to dress up . I dislike it when waiters don't check up on me enough. As for waiting, I usually look up the place first to see how long of a wait there usually is. If it seems like it's always packed, then I'll make a reservation first. If not, then I don't mind waiting for a few minutes.

For some restaurants, the atmosphere is what turns a good dining experience into a great one.

"Oh woe is me, I have to pay a lot of money to go to a upper-middle/high-class restaurant!"

What kind of restaurant sells soda for $4? Definitely not the normal, non-wallet-breaking restaurants.

You're ranting because you're poor but want to eat at an expensive restaurant?

Get take out? When you go to a restaurant you should expect to pay for service. It costs a lot to facilitate people eating in a restaurant.

You're right restaurants can be expensive, but depending on where you go, the food can be really delicious. I prefer to eat fast food for the simply convenience of taking it back home and eating in comfort, but eating at a restaurant sometimes is nice too. If you budget you money well, the occasional restaurant trip won't seem as... daunting. The waiters constantly check on you, because if they just stand around doing nothing, it looks bad for them as far as keeping the job goes. Plus, if they leave customers unattended for too long, some people will complain about the lack of service, which is bad for the waiter and the restaurant's reputation.
