Psa about the guides

long story short: i'm lazy, not that lazy, still lazy tho.

short story long: i'm going to grab the skill information guide and paste it into one of the other two guides, i'm just the perfect mix of lazy and busy right now. all the current guides really lack is hyper skills... but i assume you're smart enough to know where to find the info, deduce it on your own, or just make the i-don't-know-the-number-anymore thread about it, so i'll just be working on the RED update on the (now blank) guide. as always, help and suggestions are most appreciated, so feel free to post what you think the RED guide should include.

stuff that will be included:
pro's and con's (won't be too many at first, until we get a good hang on the class strength and weaknesses)
SP guide (duh)
skill level guide
miscellaneous (useful) information about every skill
a better explanation of how HB works (srsly, i tried reading what i wrote and now i have no clue what i said there)
my bad engrish (there will be plenty o'this for a while, until i get some help with it)
and anything else the current guides have.

so please, suggest anything you guys think of, there's no wrong suggestions, just dumb ones.
@Kratospie: Oh I get it. So since Dark Knight's have a drain skill skill anyway, we'll pretty much always be hitting a total of 422%*8, or at least 400%*8.
Not exactly =P the damage formula for gungnir works like this

(insert range here) x 3.12 (gungnir) x 3.6 (all your multipliers on a boss) x 1.5 (reincarnation)

Mine for example would be 100,000 x 3.12 x 3.6 x 1.5 which equals 1,684,800 per line of gungnir on a boss with 0% defense, no physical resist, not factoring critical hits.
It works off of your HP ratio like Cross Over Chains. For example, if your hp is full (100% HP) the damage dealt is increased by 110%. If your hp is at half (50% hp) the damage dealt is increased by 55% etc.
Not sure how exactly this stacks/scales with Cross Over Chains and Reincarnation's Passive total damage buffs.
pretty sure he's suggesting i add said info to the guide, good suggestion at that.

so far it seems that crossover and gungnir are additive, while reincarnation is multiplicative

My mistake, I was thinking Post-RED. The extra 10% would be from Hex of the Beholder. Right now the max you can get just from DrK skills is 75%/
At level 198, as a DrK you will have 85% crit. So to get 100% you'd need either a level 2 phantom link skill or at least 15% crit from inner abilities.
There was an Event in KMS that came with RED where if you get a new adventuer up to level 130, you get the Adventurer Dark Critical Ring; +3 AllStats, +300 MaxHP&MP, +3 Weapon & Magic Attack, 15% Critical Rate and 5% Minimum Critical Damage. Tradable within account once.

You can't get 100% Defense Ignore anymore, as it stacks multiplicatively Post-Unleashed.
@darkspawn980: Well no, the "just for you" part was the (:O) face, since I know how much you LOVE that. I'll do my best to try and get it on video later today @ reincarnation + sacrifice.

yea, i plan to give the link to the guide (i'll remove it from above, so it won't be seen in the forums) and once i'm done with it, or with certain parts, it can be spellchecked.

@lazershock: considering it's information that is going towards the guide, it can't be "just for me", just saying :U

and if you could get the reincarnation extra time on video, that'd be boojangles (on that line, the sacrifice too if possible)

Definitely needs a tips and tricks section for all the special tricks you can do with certain inner abilities =P

That reminds me, my friend who plays KMS tells me that Reincarnation is infact affected by buff duration, MOAR INVINCIBILITY! I'll be able to see it for myself tomorrow when I go see him for confirmation. Maybe describe the specifics of how drain works (i.e: Drain is able to proc once per mob, per attack, but will attempt to proc on every line, on every mob) some recommended macros, thats about all I have right now, if I think of anything else i'll let you know... and just for you Shinku (:O)

@singaporean: considering it's on the DrK section, your assumption is correct.

@icedemon9: y u do dis 2 me? D:
being serious though, i don't think it's possible, nowadays there's waay too many equips that could be considered "endgame", and the cost of each varies greatly between servers, getting a domi pendant might be hell in bellonova while it's relatively easy and cheap in scania. not to mention with new class releases prices might go up and down, right now PA's are pretty cheap, but imagine if we do get bandwagoned with red and the bosses still don't drop fafnir gear? faf PA's would shoot up in price with empress remaining somewhat affordable still.

@silentxynh: i just went over your build and it's pretty much exactly what i had thought, you even went the step and beyond and calculated how much attack would be required for mastery to be better, so yea. i'll add a disclaimer along the way of "this is the best training build, you're free to dump a point in reincarnation early on, if only to see the horns, and to prove your DrK-ness, and to put a point in gungnir if just to mess with it or try your lich status" or something

@trinidad: those are already on the current guide, will just get moved.

I enjoyed the humor in this post.

Anyway, FAQs, much like the current guide. I assume you'll be including these anyway, but since that wasn't explicitly on your list, I thought I'd say it just in case.
the pros and cons of spear and polearm
That doesn't change at all, post-Red, does it? I wouldn't think it would, but I haven't exactly been following the updates.

Also, where's Tobago?
