Building my first computer

So i'm not very technologically savvy I would say,

But I'm looking to build my first computer. I just don't know the first thing about it though and I have no idea where to start.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. My budget is probably $800-850 dollars.

Also, the only computer games I play is MapleStory. Though every now and then i'll use my brother's account and mess around on steam.

If all you play currently is just maple, you probably wouldn't need to use all of your budget, but you should still get a motherboard to prepare for future upgrading if you plan on doing so, so that you don't regret it in the future.

I would get a motherboard that comes with the following: Intel LGA1150, at least 4 slots of DDR3 Memory, one or two slots of PCI 2.0 x 16.

Reasoning behind the LGA1150 is that for now you can get the Intel i3-4130 Haswell processor for now (they're around $130 check to make sure it's LGA1150) and in the future, you could upgrade to an i7 if you decide you need more power. If all you're doing is playing maple, and even some other stuff like League, CS:GO, video and photo editing, this will be more than enough.

For power supply, get at least 650W. Yes, that is overkill, especially since you probably won't need it initially, but having too much power isn't a bad thing. Having too little power will hurt a lot more.

If you have the money, get an GTX 750 Ti. It's the most cost-efficient graphics card out there. If all you do is play maple, you won't need it. If you play some more intense games, I would recommend it. Go through them and see which model fits your needs better. For me, I would want a dual-monitor setup, so I would have to make sure I have at least two display out's that would work for me.

For memory, get 8gb. You'll probably never need more than that, and that should be enough to set you up for a while.

Computer case honestly doesn't matter, get anything that has decent airflow.

As hyperfire said, if you only play Maple, a $800 computer isn't gonna really help.
But if I may ask, $800-$850, in USD or another currency?

And dw about the building process. Nowadays, building a computer is essentially putting together a very expensive Lego set. Only worry would be static electricity (but simply discharging yourself before the build & periodically while building negates this issue).

If all you play is maplestory, you dont need to build a pc.
And you need to be more specific than "messing around steam". What games in particular interests/interested you?
