There's a linework layer that lets you change the curves using points and these things that look like handles.

Edit: I prefer to sketch with crayon. Pen lines are too wiggly for me and they don't really contribute to the effect I'm looking for.

Yeah use the pen tool, its good.
It takes a while to get used to just keep practicing ^^

@demonheart22: I'm using Sai, just started last week, so perhaps I'm not used to it yet. Do you use the pen tool? My sister says it's good for making clean lines.

In paint tool sai there is a stabilizer that I use - it makes your lines more smoother by reducing the speed of the curser/pen.
I don't think they have that feature in photoshop, so if that's what you use to draw i cant help T T

I find it easier to colour and create in SAI, then edit it in photoshop ^^
