Bottom Half of screen flickered today

I bought a refurbished Acer G257HU smidpx 25" from Acer Re certified website and it worked well in the 11 days of use but today the bottom half of the screen flickered so I had to restart the monitor for it to get fixed. Should I return the monitor or is it normal for this to happen?

@despair:
The picture shows it's definitely a software problem and not a hardware problem I had previously assumed.
A graphics driver may solve it though if it does not, then your computer's graphic output is just not very smart when it comes to switching between different resolutions.

Happened again today after once again alt+tab from Maple to Desktop so I took a picture of how it looks. Switching user and singing in again fixed it so should I assume Maple causes it?

@burning: Might be since my table is shaky. Just hope it's not a monitor problem since I was debating if I should get a 1080p or 1440p but picked 1440p even tho it's double the price and I don't wanna end up regretting that.

off-topic: do you play the game?

The monitor cable probably got loose.

@burning: When I restarted the monitor it worked completely normal. I don't know if it matters but I'm using a laptop as a desktop and on windows 10 so I don't know if this has to do with compatibility as I was alt+tab from Maple to desktop when it happened.

What does flicker mean here?

Is it flashing, not synced (tearing), frozen?
