How popular are your IGNs on Google?
For the sake of privacy, you can omit the actual IGNs from the post. Include 'em if you like.
Run your IGNs through a Google search in quotations for precision - "Blizzard" for example, which gives 68.9 million results.
Regardless of whether it's one of your favourites (you might favour a less popular one), what are your most popular ones?
Mine:
180 million;
152 million;
137 million;
136 million;
103 million.

Just with the IGN's on top of my head
1,020,000,000 but no one wants the name. Who wants to be remembered as 'Foot'?
Kankati - 16,800
@pokamanz: Oh my god, Gengar... Oh my God.
@mrsindeath19: Oh, it said x/50 matches on my Control + F - accidentally looked at that instead of Y. My mistake.
Either way:
1. Even if it's based in a theme, it's not immune to tiring.
1a. Even if it's based in a theme, it doesn't mean the word before or after complements it.
2. The theme itself isn't immune to being tired - variations of Lotus are not exactly unheard of.
3. You're still using a binary definition of "originality" and weighing in on what does and does not imply originality. If we were not the first to have them, it wouldn't make the prior owners original in thought, only output.
They didn't come up with the words. No point assigning more value to the process of creation unless it's just to make a claim on having done it first, but the thought put into it between the first person and second person to have gotten it is indistinguishable.
4. Based on what you call unoriginal, is your Lotus theme itself unoriginal if you're not the first to fly with it or would you agree that reduces the criteria too much?
5. You have no idea what IGNs people had before the purge, which still reflects on their ability to be original. You're missing a piece of the puzzle. I'd argue those actually count for more when determining originality since the window of creativity is smaller. I think you would agree.
6. You're lookin' for a quarrel. Pointlessly contentious. You can look around and see it's clearly a desirable event. You can see the reception to it. You weighed in with a Debbie-downer sentiment and flattered yourself for not having engaged. Okay then. Enjoy your pedestal. We're just having fun.
Have the last word and the win; I don't mind. Too glad with what I got for this to bug me, as I would wager are others who were satisfied by their picks.

@dogpukeyellow: Clearly you can't count considering it's 50/50. And having a theme that I use does not imply unoriginality.
I got some nice names, although i am not sure how popular they will be on maple or on google. I will check a few...
Andrew - 661m
Feline - 41m
Lioness - 12m
Domino - 122m
Rocking - 111m
There are more, but i can't be bothered looking.

IGN you wonder? It's "google".
@pokamanz: I hate you. I tried incredibly quickly for Gengar and Mewtwo. :'( Well done well done. I never cared for anything past #251 - just wanted a couple decent ones among them but never got any.
what its the point of this?
obviously the more common your word its the more results
@laudier: Well dang.
@truonghax: Jealous.

EDIT: Anyone know how to add character?
Tried to add but the page says "BRB" and also retrieving old accounts... forgot email to my old account -.-
@mrsindeath19: 50* out of 50 names in your player profile contain the word "Lotus". Not sure about originality, but if you are using it in a more binary way to simply mean no one else had it, okay.
10,100,000 - aaah
2,880,000,000 believe it or not. just a really common word i guess. doesn't sound that cool either.
4120 results and proud of it... I also didn't change any IGN because originality > popularity
