WTF 3 - Classes

Something something Wishful Thinking Friday! I almost forgot to do it today, it's been a weird day.

Anyway, today's topic is classes! How would you change the class system? What classes would you add, etc. This isn't necessarily about any specific class, I was gonna maybe do one for each later, but more about how classes in this game work in general.

I think adding in more bowman classes would be cool, like a longbow class, a ballista class, and/or one of those pipes you blow into to shoot darts out of.

What do you think?

@gakinotsukai: I think a class that allows you to summon monsters you have killed in the past would be pretty dope. Only problem is that there are a lot of mage classes already and I don't think people would be keen to add another.

Necromancer - A class that just trolls players and causes more DC.

@baroo: Yeah I can't see how nx items would work with real monster classes but hey, not like this thread is supposed to consider balance or viability anyway!
I think a class similar to the Blue Mage (or maybe it was Red Mage?) from Final Fantasy would be cool, where you can use monster attacks. I mean I don't think there would be any way to actually implement monster attacks in the game but even if just the skills came from monsters, like the black orb thing that Balrogs can fire or like Taurospear attacks, that would be cool. Alternatively, a class that could turn into monsters to fight could be interesting.

I've mentioned this in past topics over the years, but I've always wanted Monster Classes.
I mean, we've already seen that the Mushrooms, Pepes, and even Yetis are capable of much more than just being simplistic foes thanks to various past events and such (like the Mushroom Kingdom quest-line).
Nexon's even joked about it in the past during April Fools in Maple Story 2 with a supposed Mushroom Warrior class.
Yes, I know they've kind of done this already with a certain Pink Bean event, but Pink Bean wasn't permanent and wasn't as well fleshed out as a real class should be. Not to mention I'd personally prefer to use a simple monster like a Mushroom or Pepe than a boss monster like Pink Bean (even if they did weaken it greatly).
It's still extremely unlikely to ever happen, but I'd still really like to see something like this happens before this game comes to an eventual end.

@ecarina: Yeah I feel like something like a blowdart class isn't something fancy enough for Nexon's tastes XD.

Edit: I would pay good money if the somehow incorporated a fishing class into the game. It would probably be a pirate and the majority of its skills would be just hooking and rallying monsters. Obviously this is a really niche class, but I'm big into fishing and something like that would definitely bring me back into the game.

Nexon would just give a blowdart class hurricane, which would be ridiculous. I'd rather just have a variation on a bow. Longbow like you mentioned or something ridiculous like how cannoneer carries a cannon, an archer carrying a giant ballista.

@helpingly: F/Ps still use DoT but it's mostly just to power up Mist Eruption and for a passive buff. I guess a DoT class would be pretty obsolete already. I guess I'm not too sure how a blowgun class would work, like you can't have many flashy skills, it's literally just blowing darts.
Maybe you could spit fire?

Oh but debuffs are still important for bossing, and a lot of classes have at least one. Not great for training though.

@ecarina: Is DOT still a big part of some classes? I know that F/P used to be the kings of DOT, is that still a thing?

@helpingly: I imagine they'd use a lot of debuffs and poison type stuff. Main weapon would be the blowgun, 2ndary would be the dart.

This is a repeat of the first time I commented and I have no idea who I managed to comment twice in a row.
