@silverfoxr: It's fine, xiv keeps out scrubs like you with a paywall anyways <3

Just pay the sub fee and play the better of the two games.

I'd link the article but...I don't support Kotaku.
No thanks... rather play not be forced into a subscription. Never liked the "pay to play" formula. Seen the downside of that pay model... especially when you are unable to keep up with the subscription. Sorry, but if I pay for a game, I should be allowed to play it.
That's actually only available as a one-time gift when you load a vanilla DD save in Dark Arisen
...you can't load a vanilla DD save into DA... not on PS3 anyways. It's one of the setbacks of Dark Arisen - the original Dragon's Dogma character file does not work on Dark Arisen, so you need to make a new character and Pawn and start from scratch.
yeah the combat was sucky and the Zero fast travel is just bad. Artifical lengthening of a game is a bad idea.
You... DID play Dragon's Dogma, right? There is a fast travel system... and actually, they improve it in the Dark Arisen expansion by giving you a permanent, infinite-use ferrystone at/near the begining of the game. There's a fixed portcystal in many of the game's main locations, while you get 2 or 3 movable portcrystals you can place for convenient use, either to a spot you frequently re-visit (IE: Healing Springs to refill on spring water) or to place in the area you're currently exploring, so you can jump back to town at a moment's notice, then jump back (kind of like a Priest's Mystic Door skill in Maple).

As for the combat being "sucky", well, that's your opinion.

It's nice to see Dark Arisen being ported to PC... though I'm curious about the F2P MMO for Dragon's Dogma if it's going to be coming to North America or just stay inside Japan. It looks interesting to say the least...
