Oculus Vr sold to Facebook

Today Oculus Rift VR technology was "sold" for 2 billion to a social networking website known as Facebook.

I am pretty mad about it for a few reasons:

1. Oculus Rift started out as a kickstarter funded project, it had plenty of backers because they made well over $2mill ~ $20mill in funding, not only that they also had every popular CEO from various companies and video games supporting / sponsoring, etc. they stole the money from the backers, and in return left the Oculus Rift "unfinished", selling the company and not meeting the kickstarter requirements (I predict BIG lawsuit)

2. Im a PC enthusiast.. so i HATE consoles. (bought a PS3 the day GTA V came out.. played it once November 2013? and its currently collecting dust).. Oculus Rift had Sony and Microsoft at their knees, they could have dominated the console gaming market completely and put an end to all consoles.. if anything, them selling the company only made consoles stronger

3. of all companies out there, why sell that technology to a social networking website? which is only interested in advertisement and browser apps? it just doesnt make sense.. im sure things would have turned out better if they sold it to Google but why Facebook?

all i know is that the reddit pages as well as the kickstarter pages are currently getting spammed with hate comments and everything.. its quite sad really. this will put VR gaming in an ice age (kinda like Virtualboy by Nintendo)

(and yes.. Oculus Rift VR was compatible with Maplestory.. i've seen someone using it)

you'd think a community of nerds would be able to resist rampant speculation and fear mongering, but nope. z-zuckerberg's not gonna get any of my precious btc!

Lol, they didn't steal any money from kickstarter backers. They fulfilled all their kickstarter promises like a year ago.

It's funny, Facebook paid in their stocks. Unless they plan on something huge, those stocks are gonna drop fast, ripping the Oculus Rift off bad.
And think of the Facebook phone. That died. So fast.
I'm assuming they're gonna try the same thing with this. Turn your head right and you can access your Facebook. Oh hey there, clunky Google Glass with less perks.

Sir you do realize you are in the chat island section of this forum? Notice most of these chats are not related to Maplestory because they don't have to be. This section is just to talk about whatever people have on their minds.

It'd be fine as long as Zuckerberg kept his hands off of the actual OR development, which I can't see happening. I'd absolutely love to be proven wrong, though.

Why would they sell out to Facebook out of all companies? There goes my hopes for any sort of good virtual reality gaming within this decade.
