As for the sushi, yeah it's disappointing, but much less work on Nexon's part to add a small, simple monster with no backstory, minimal detail, and only 1 magic attack. Also it's added to an already existing quest instead of making a completely new 1. I ain't surprised thanks to those reasons.. and also because of the large amount of cute bunny items and effeminate boys in the game.
Gotta think about that stuff too, it's probably more on how much work Nexon has to put in adding a new monster than creativity.

It's a pretty disappointing thought that those who put more effort into their submissions had no chance of winning grand prize because "more effort = harder to implement".

the contests are meant to let any individual to win, regardless of skill. it doesnt matter how good or bad you are at it
