Kaiser

RIP Original Combo System for Kaisers

The new system is so clunky to the point that it's pretty much useless in bossing and training.

My gameplay relied on the old combo system with the three preset arrow keys + attack key combinations. Honestly I don't care if they take out the added damage in order to revert back to what it was before the patch. Time to quit this guy, it's been a great ride.

EDIT: Quit as in halt funding. Still gonna try and get used to not utilizing combo keys, but it'll take some time...

@akon1659: Easier said than done. I'll reiterate, I don't care about losing the 15% dmg, but more so the user friendly old combo system.

@epicnarwhal well i'd just set the skill to a key and lose the 15% dmg.

@akon1659: If you mean if it's +15% then it's x1.15 (onto the x1.25 of cursebyte and x1.15 of final form, which totals to be 1.6x w/ the extra 1.15 or 1.4x without). So it's ~a 20% full damage loss (not %dmg).

@akon1659: It is not an added 15%. And saying "a little more clunkiness" is an understatement. Instead of spamming gigas, now you have to press your "attack" key once, then quickly follow with the arrow combination every time to gain the 15% bonus.

Example: Doing three gigas waves with 15% bonus:

--> New system = attack key, gigas waves key, attack key, gigas waves key, attack key, gigas waves key.
--> Before all you had to do was hold down two arrow keys (for me it was up + right) and just hold down the attack key.

Think about it this way, seeing that you are Hero, your main bossing skill is Raging B[low. Lets say Nexon, one patch, adds a 15% TD increase to Raging B[low. You're happy now because you hit harder, 15% TD more precisely. Now, the next patch, Nexon makes it so that in order to enjoy that 15% TD increase, you must press your "attack" key before pressing your "Raging B[low" key every single time.

Also you say how "play style" is not really one to be talked about in this so called "terrible 2D PvE mmorpg". Why not talk about play style? I feel like everyone can agree that taking down bosses like Magnus, Lotus,Damien, and cvell requires skill gained through practice. Play style is so important when it comes to strategizing against killing those bosses. For me, my rush skill is such an important one because it allows me to quickly dodge purple b[alls in magnus and falling rocks in lotus. I say play style particularly because not everyone has the same strategies for bosses, therefore that style is customizable. Is that not describing the unique "play styles" that players must adopt through practice?

@akon1659: It's 15% final damage like your enrage/combo orbs. Also before the combos would cause shorter skill delays.

@moelesterson Not saying people don't have a right to be upset about it, I would be annoyed too. People need to calm down though. Kaisers are still far superior / less clunky than many other classes. And like I stated before, it's not exactly worth quitting the class over. Oh and let's not talk about "play style" in a terrible 2D PvE mmorpg.

Curious tho, Isn't that 15% dmg you gain from performing the new "combo" an added 15%? If you were to not use it aren't you still hitting the same as before the patch with a little more clunkiness.

@akon1659:

You can set the skill to a key, but I took advantage of the unique mechanics (I guess you could say that arans at once had similar mechanics) that the class offered that made the way I play the class a whole lot more fluid. Although it is more complex to press a combination of arrow keys, the only alpha-numeric key I had to worry about for attacking was "Z". My fingers were already resting on the arrow keys, so attacking and moving was very fluid.

I guess I'm too abrupt and lacking detail in saying I'm gonna quit the class. It's more like I'm going to stop my funding for my kaiser and try to relearn how to be efficient at playing it. Maybe try out new classes. Stuff like that.

@moelesterson:

Yeah I agree with you man. The new system makes for a very choppy/clunky gameplay, which pretty much makes it useless in bossing. It's almost like Nexon could completely remove the new combo system and I don't think anyone would care about it. Which makes it reasonable to revert back to the old combo system and remove the 15% TD bonus altogether for means of "balancing" the class. And using the arrow key combinations would still offer faster filling of dragon gauge.

@akon1659: How would you feel if they took the hero class and changed its skills to a different system making its whole pattern of play different... oh wait

on a related note; the change is a bit jarring as the current system is pretty much an unusable mess as it lowers total dpm by a lot seeing as you would have to cast a dragon slash between almost every skill to gain the 15% TD. It doesn't make the class unplayable it just makes a unique gameplay mechanic unusable.

@epicnarwhal Maybe I'm being ignorant and missing something, Can you not just set the skill to a key, sure you'll have to learn to press some new keys but that's no big deal and hardly worth quitting the character over. You'll only have to do the same on a new main.

@akon1659: It's not only the 15% dmg that was lost, it was also the way I used the old combo system to train/boss that I really care about. And also, who cares you say? Although a rhetorical question, I have to answer and say I care

See I don't mind the 15% dmg loss. I'm just upset that the old combo system is gone where they had those preset combinations (Up + Left/Right + Attack, or Down + Left/Right + Attack) are now set for all different skills. They made it so it is no longer customizable. I couldn't care less about the 15% damage honestly, I just want them to have that old preset system like I said and just eliminate the 15% damage bonus.

@eternalmemory Ahh for sure! I was actually more thinking about moving my gear onto a different warrior class, but if I decide not to in the end I would be interested in negotiating prices with you.
