Buckshot question

Is buckshot really worth using?
It makes your attack go x12 but reduces dmg by 40%... Honestly, if I add up the numbers with and without buckshot of my dmg they seem to equal the same... I don't understand why it'd be a hyper though, if it didn't help?

Improbable

Buckshot gives 3 times the benefit for the Cannon Barrage Reinforce hyper skill.

Even with the reduced damage, your stats doesn't have to be godly to see the benefit from it.

100%dmg*3=300% dmg
300*.4 = 120%
20% dmg increase

once you start capping(if ever) you'd be doing triple the damage as compared to without buckshot
good luck though, youd need to be hitting 125m with barrage normally lol

I think Buckshot actually decreases damage TO 40% (a 60% reduction of the base damage). However, it does give a 20% overall boost (20% x 3 times the lines = 1.2x damage overall). I mean it's not a bad thing and more lines are always good. Honestly though I just love seeing a wall of numbers fly off of the monsters I hit.
It's a 20 percent damage increase assuming every line of damage is the same or you're hitting the cap'. However, 99% of the time it could potentially be greater than 20% depending on the crits and totals on your lines. Basically, more lines = more criticals. You should always use it.
Not really. Buckshot always at least increase your damage output by a 20%. Though if you already hit the damage cap without buckshot, the damage increase of buckshot can be between 20% and 200%(3 times the damage).

Even if it halved your damage you should use it 'cause it looks cool.

that's a fallacy. more lines = more crits but each crit is worth less. all crit has to do with line count is the more lines you have, the more stable your dmg w/ crits
for example, if you had 1 line of 10k dmg and 150%~150% Crit and 50% Crit rate, you do 15k half the time and 10k half the time. so on average 12.5k
if instead you had 10 lines of 1k, then you're most likely to get 5 1.5k lines and 5 1k lines, totalling 12.5k. however, this time instead of jumping back and forth between 10k and 15k, you're getting consistently 12~13k

but yes. it's 20% increase. at near cap or cap, it's more since the larger but fewer lines are limited by cap. should always be used

its x3. you just hit 12 times before your skills have 4 attack lines before buckshot. you end up doing 20% more damage. I hear that for people reaching end game, you don't hit damage cap as fast because your damage is reduced to 40%, so getting more goodies on your items would eventually benefit you if you are actually high up there
