Aran vs Hayato

I mainly want to be able to train my life away, with decent daily boss capability with a 300k-500k range.

My previous main was Battle Mage, both characters (Aran and Hayato) are around 60 so I haven't gotten a complete taste (I do enjoy both)

Arans have a lot less range than Hayato does (with the exception of projectile attacks), but they have far more damage output. For mob training, Hayato's reach can trump Aran's damage, but in bossing, there isn't much contest.
The only problem with Arans is they don't get good till 170, and that's a looooong time till you'll get there. (Unless you're on a power leveling montage.)
That's fine by me, Battle Mages mobbing wasn't special until 170, near-spammable hypers ftw

Pressing up on portals on Hayato is annoying but I love Hayato. As for Arans, I think it'd be easier to find a scrolled PA vs Katana. However the "fj" for both classes is diferent as far as mobility goes. Long run I think Aran has better output in terms of damage. Don't get me wrong, Hayatos are still enjoyable and you can feel unique being one of the few around. I would say play both to 120-130 and make your choice after
