I think the problem is everyone is opening their boxes immediately when getting them, which with the pseudo-randomness makes you less likely to get anything. I also wasn't getting the chair, but then I asked someone who did. They said they collected about 50 and then opened them all at once. I tried that and got mine. You have better chances opening them in a row.
Oh, and last week I opened one and got a 10% Clean Slate. There's some ultra rare stuff hidden there, and I somehow got that one.

Besides this chair I had this with only one chair in the past - Parade Car Chair.. ended up not getting it after wasting so much time on boxes..
I'm convinced that I've opened up 1000+ of these boxes, but I didn't get that chair. Those crapcakes are making me pull out my hair... </3 </3 </3
I've officially given up on farming boxes for that chair, at this point I don't think it's a possible reward, at least for me anyway.

How does the chair look like again? I recall a while back someone posted a pic of it o 3o

Frozen Boxes, the boxes that you can get after using the begginer skill every 10 min' on ice/hot characters..

there is a chair? i opened over 1500 boxes by now
Like you I've opened a bunch and only got an inventory full of starry night chairs, but a friend got the icy train one in like 5 boxes.
I haven't gotten a single chair yet. Mostly cupcakes and traces.
