I miss the old school perion HQ where everyone met. And I remember when orbit first came out, there were so many damn people on the boats after it came out. It was insane.
The good old days when levels were both rewarding and relevant. The good old days when each class had a distinct play style. The good old days when not everything needed to be bigger and better in terms of appearance. The good old days when there were actually a decent amount of people playing the game. The good old days when the maps were bigger and less confined. The good old days when you actually looked forward to a job advancement with anticipation. The good old days when people actually talked instead of getting on to do daily bosses/quests and then getting off. The good old days when Hermits were the only ones with flash jump. The good old days when corsairs had their boat. The good old days when marauders had their transformation. The good old days when power creep was non existent. The good old days when you weren't instantly gratified with being able to travel anywhere at any time. The good old days when cpq/cpq2 were the key training points from 30-70. the good old days when each pq had a reason to be done. The good old days when there weren't many rings in the game. The good old days when the difference between funded and unfunded wasn't stupidly high. The good old days when there wasn't any set gear besides android and blizzard. The good old days when you wanted to have the godliest low level common class gear as possible. The good old days when party play was encouraged. The good old days when the town maps looked amazing, and were decently sized. The good old days when the game was meant to be explored. The good old days when there wasn't dead content. The good old days when you couldn't only visit 4 different places throughout your maple career. The good old days when you didn't need a shop to be able to sell stuff in the free market. The good old days when people actually went in the free market. The good old days when you actually looked forward to the in game events. The good old days when the events actually gave you relevant items. The good old days when not everyone had 5 computers with multiple different mules to get hs/kishin. The good old days when there was gear variety. The good old days when most characters didn't appear flashy and drenched in sparkly pixels. The good old days when ITCG allowed you to get some pretty awesome relevant stuff. The good old days when everyone wasn't level 200 or higher. The good old days when there wasn't a forced story line, and maplestory was meant for you to "make your own story" The good old days when there weren't 40 different classes. The good old days when the game wasn't pay to win (excluding reboot) The good old days when Hime was around. The good old days when we weren't forced to deal with a guy named artasi. The good old days when nexon actually respected their playerbase and their game.
There are many more that can be added to this list, but I'll end it here with one last one. The good old days when this game actually mattered. Oh and of course, inb4 the people who never got past level 40 back then disagree with everything I said.
The good old days where a Sin could hunt headless horsemen at level 75 and use it as a viable way to level, and bigfoot was the best exp around. I forgot the move, but a level 50 character could help others leach exp off it somehow. Powerguard?
Also ccing 1-20 hunting Zombie Mushmom and other bosses at the time because the scrolls they dropped were worth the most money. It's the equivalent of elite hunting now.
the good old days when warriors needed dex or they missed mobs a lot, when tiger was the highest lvl(the first time I played he was like 130) and suuushi right after him, When the 3rd job came out and ludi was the best place to train, when zakum helms runs was like 6 parties just to defeat him and was like 200m(a lot back then) just to loot 1 zhelm(ya those that u just sell to a npc now or just drop them), when a 11 att glove was the godliest thing u could get, when hermit was the only char that could flash jump and get shadow partner(now every class uses flash jump and almost all thief got shadow partner like skill), when DK and priest was the best duo for exp, when chief bandit had assaulter and band of thieves skills, when white knights/Mages elemental attacks had to be used agaisnt elemental weak mobs, when there was only explorers and not even pirates came out, when the highest lvl weapon was lvl 90, when there was no potential, no cubes, no enhacements, no perma nx, no perma pets...
I PvPed with CurryisHott a couple of times when PvP was a thing. The only time I'd really smile was when I killed him or a couple of totally cheating and op toaster-oven known as Mechanic. You tanky madafakas Sorry. I didn't have great ping back then. Lotta rage for the Mechs at that time.
pig beach being a hidden portal (if u stood in front of it the yellow glow didnt show) or actually when pig beach was still alive oo oo oo also remember when the bosses (mm, sk) were liek 3x the height of a maple char? now its like 1.5x the height
Curry was so cool. I remember I used to have conversations with him, and then he stopped getting on. I was like 10 or 11 at the time, felt so cool talking to him lmao.
Oh, the "good" old days... hackers everywhere, constant KSing in most training locations, insulting players for their damage, class, what weapon "style" they used, being statless or not... oh yes... the "good" old days...
throwback when I had to rent myself out for KPQ and LPQ tracks from guys wanting to chat on MSG and xfire. I was basically the Audrey Hepburn's Golightly of MS golden age.
