Wanting to create a mage class

Im wanting to create a mage class but I have no idea what to make. I tried to create a poll but I didn't know how to create more than 4 choices
(unless you couldn't then that would've just solved the problem )

Anyways, I don't have godly funding or anything like that.. just about 10-20b? If possible could you guys maybe give me a list on whats good to boss, quick to train and in general have heaps of fun.
I remember Beast Tamer's came out but I didn't really enjoy it back then, but never tried the support capabilities and deleted it for the creation of a different class.. does anyone know if they're good or bad?

Also got a question about the explorer class switching.. Can I endlessly switch classes after Lv100? or is there a limit to how many times I can? o.o
Is it possible to also change or switch classes with other classes other than explorer? Like I have a mechanic at Lvl100 would i be able to create a Battle Mage from it.

I know there are heaps of other posts like this, but most of them were specifically targeting like just explorers or just support classes etc.. Wanted a more wholesome (don't know if thats the word lol) suggestion from you guys.

Thanks for the help. Really appreciate it

@lilallan: whats so bad about F/P? I was watching a post RED update youtube video about F/P's and seemed pretty fun is there something about F/P's that I should know about?
@gooddeals: Thanks for the that. I found out that like Lvl200+ is like 500 - 600m? (which is quite alot o.o) Does the pricing increase depending on the level or how many times I changed classes?
@betaboi101: Other people on this thread said that F/P arent fun or havent mentioned them at all. Are F/P's not popular? Or is there something else that im missing?
@spitfirebal2: Your summary was really great and was really helpful however, out of the mages of Explorer, BW, Evans and Lumi what class would benefit the most out of average funding?[/quote]

stacking dot of fp was tedious af. not my style and not alot of other ppls style

@GlobalKorean:

F/p mages have always seemed to have less of a following. Recently however, you'll start to see quite a bit more of them in game because they are one of those "noob friendly" classes that can hit hard with minimal funds and because of elemental reset (a skill that counters physical resistance).

As far as fun is concerned in my bias, no mage class is really fun. Some are bearable but the only mage that I could admit to truly enjoying was a pre red I/l mage. Post red they botched a lot of I/ls animations and made the overall gameplay of the class much less visually appealing.

I've played an f/p pre big bang and pre red as well. I despised the class and honestly at the time was only in it for the meteor ultimate attack, because f/ps used to level fast with mist, and because I had an elemental wand at the time and those used to be valuable. Pre red once their ultimate was nerfed, I maybe played it for a day before switching back to my I/l (I have all mage adventurers and other mage classes as separate characters as open job advancement wasn't a thing back then).

I personally never really liked the concept of using magic and realized that I was more into simple, clean cut and visually appealing, fast paced attacks after trying out pretty much every other class the game has to offer.

Out of other mage classes I played:
-Pre red I/l was by far the most enjoyable
-Bishop is just dreadfully boring
-Evan was actually fun for a while though it gets repetitive in time and they are pretty hindered by the cap now a days
-Battle mage was by far the most unenjoyable mage class to play.
-luminous aren't really my cup of tea as I am not into training as much as bossing and the whole temporary concept of being strong when you can spam the equilibrium attack wasn't cutting it for me. I prefer simple consistency but their own.
-kanna was actually somewhat enjoyable to make as a mule but I am not too fond of their lack of solid 4th job skills
-beast tamer never really appealed to me. I liked the concept of different modes but I hated how the majority of its forms were somewhat useless outside of party play and how weak the solo mode was.

F/P mage is generally considered the best mage in terms of bossing, and one of the best bossing classes in general (2nd only to zero) at lower fundings. The DoT system is a tad more complicated than your generic 2nd game skill set, but learning to use a diverse skill set and maintaining DoT stacks is actually quite engaging in terms of game play.

Probably either Lumi or Evan, because with average funding you won't be too ambitious for heavy bossing.

Lumi for insane mobbing power with Reflection and Evan for balance. Evans at first job have insane attack speed, shame that their attack only hits 1 target...

Why does everyone say i/l better mobbing than f/p?

Chain lightning only hits 5 mobs, and the bounce is only to nearby targets. Paralyze off the bat is 8 mobs. Also you don't get the hyper until way later in the levels for i/l extra mob hits on chain lightning.

To summarize my opinions:

1. Evans are pretty fun, and they have decent damage as well. Unique job advance system means you'll be getting new skills every 20 levels or so up to 160(?).
2. FP mages are great for being relatively strong bossers unfunded.Stacking DoT might not be your thing, though.
3. Blaze wizards are amazing right now but they will be nerfed in the future to do roughly 70% of the damage they can do right now.
4. Luminous is great at mobbing with Reflection, and you'll be pretty happy with how easily you can clear a map of monsters.
5. Kanna is kind of a "training support" mage, and kishin shoukan will make it super easy to do event quests and whatnot.
6. I/L... I don't really know much about them but it seems that they're a bit better at bossing compared to Lumi but less good at mobbing.
7. Bishops are the classic support mage but are also viable attackers with their 150 hyper skill. That said, it's still not the best choice for heavy DPS.
8. Beast Tamers are even more unique than Evans but you won't be able to max out all of your skills, so that might make you feel kind of uncomfortable at 200. Bear mode is great for doing damage but it's not really the best. Cat Mode is really great for party support, though.

Because mobility is a key issue:
Most mages have a standard teleport.
Explorer mages can teleport in midair but their teleport destination has to be on the ground.
Evans can do the DS glide with their dragon as well as "random teleport" with Dragon Blink.
Blaze Wizards have a flash jump instead of a teleport. It's farther than the NW flash jump but you can only use it once before touching the ground again. They also get Fire Blink, which lets you set a destination on the map beforehand and when activating the skill again you teleport back to that spot. Quite useful at end-game bosses.
Luminous has a longer range teleport than most mages.
Kanna has the longest standard teleport range of all mages with Ether Pulse, but it's a slow teleport that takes about a third of a second to cast and is affected by attack speed. Using Ether Pulse without a directional key will let you teleport to a random spot on the map much like Dragon Blink. In second job, Kanna gets access to another mobility skill (Shikigami Charm?) which has a short cooldown (less than 10 seconds) but rushes you forward immediately about the same range as an Ether Pulse.
I/L has this thing where they freeze the ground when they teleport to it. I'm not sure about the details myself since I don't play I/L but it's probably useful in some situations.
Beast Tamers are kind of unique, once again. They get access to a weaker flash jump, which gets insanely boosted in Bird mode (along with other flying and gliding skills). Leopard mode also has some rushing attacks. Cat mode and Bear Mode don't really have any significant mobility skills, but my BT is maxed in Cat and Bird, so I wouldn't know.

I've played all mage classes at one point and to me at least I was not too impressed by the majority of their playstyles ;/

Ignoring my biass, I would definitely recommend going for an f/p, evan, or blaze wizard. f/ps take the cake for hitting hard with minimal funds. They also have ele resist. Blaze wizards are also quite beastly but will be nerfed in the near future. Evans I feel are underrated because they hit hard too and have an elemental reset skill. What seems most useful about evans though is the fact that flamewheel attacks from so far away and has quite the range. Though flame wheel is not your typical evan bossing move, on certain bosses where you need to survive while attacking, flame wheel becomes quite useful because you can distance yourself from certain close attacks.

Dont know much about mages but i can answer the other one.

You can job change only if you are a explorer class and withen your class branch e.g a hero can change to pally, f/p mage can change to i/l, nightlord can change to shadower etc. other classes cant do this. It costs 10mil to change at level 100 and price increases as your level increases. And yes you can change as many times as you want.

Cut out some mages you dont want to play or not worth funding then make a poll
As of now i guess you could ride the blaze wizard hype (theyre getting nerfed i heard) or play f/p mage. I think you can switch as much as you want but it cost mesos and no you cant change to things other then explorer
