Dragon Thrust vs Illusion at Max Damage

I decided to do the math and calculate how good dt is if you cap with it. This might help you determine whether the funding to do caps with dt is worth it or not.

Dragon thrust: 480 ms
Illusion: 660 ms

I'll assume max damage (999,999) is being done with both skills.

Dragon thrust's hits per min:
1s/0.480ms = 2.0833 attacks per sec
2.0833 x 60 = 125 attacks per min
Dpm: 125 x 3m(3 lines per dt)= 375m per min
Dragon sparkling's activation:
125m x 0.40 = 50m

So DT at cap would be an average of 425mil damage per min.

Illusion's hits per min: 1s/0.660ms = 1.5151 hits per sec
1.5151 x 60 = 90.9090 hits per min
Dpm: 90.9090 x 4m = 363.6363m damage per min.
Dragon Sparkling's activation: 90.9090 x 0.40 = 36.3636m

So Illusion's dpm would be an average of 399.9999mil damage per min

425m - 400m = 25m
25m x 100%/400m =6.25% more damage with dragon thrust.

Now, is that worth the billions of mesos? Up to you Remember that dt can hit 8 monsters at once whereas illusion only 1 at a time.

tltr 425mil dpm vs 400mil dpm

Hope it helps

@Skyenets It is correct but at normal(6) speed o.o

@Raskier Both skills are useful, it is different in most situations. Like at czak I use flame wheel for the first 6 arms and then dragon thrust against the 2 remaining arms on the bottom because dt's range is perfect to hit both at once if you place yourself sort of in the middle of both; it is better than caps with fw even if I do just about 800k crits. At arkarium I use blaze/flame wheel on the mages he summons because their HP is about 5.8m and they regain health almost right after they get hit so the 2hit-ko from using blaze is better than the 3 hits needed to do to kill them with dragon thrust. At Pink Bean's statues dragon thrust dominates anyday because you can hit 2 statues at once with it, whereas only 1 at a time with blaze. I'm sure you'll figure out which skill is better to use in any case once the revamp hits ems.
@Devilish0ne and @Urvin Alright thanks for clearing that up guys I was doing my calculations based on an old post and I can't believe I forgot to add booster's and Dragon Soul's speed increase

@Devilish0ne That's true, Dragon Thrust's range and also the fact that you can hit 8 monsters with it is definitely a plus.

Regardless of my mistakes I think that is clear that Dragon Thrust does more damage per min/sec than Illusion if you do caps with both. Which is what I wanted to point out thanks!
However, in a realistic context, such as an empress or PB run, you can only attack in specific time. For PB this time frame is of like 10 seconds if you don't get stunned. Considering that the starting hit of dragon thrust lasts almost a full second, I still think illusion is better. For empress I must agree for most of the time it would be better to use dragon thrust, especially since she gets out of illusion's range when she uses skills such as Dark Genesis and Poisoning.
Isnt illusions delay 510 ms? Pretty sure illusion is very close to 8 hits/second without sparking, so like 7.xxx hits/second just not quite 8?

OT: What else is there to do as an evan once u cap on illusion?

what i would like to know is when does DT take over in a 1v1 situation? What will i need to average with a DT hit? (dont just say cap lol)
If illusion's cast time was 510ms (that would mean that is almost as much dps as hurricane-like skills lol)then it would be the best skill to use at any 1 vs 1 situation, but I'm pretty certain it's 660ms.

Lets see, since dt's dpm is 6.25% more than illusion's, you would need to do 93.75% of those 425m dpm (caps dt) to make it better than illusion. That would be about 920k lines with dt; thats without counting crit rate nor phantom imprint's damage boost. So yeah pretty close to caps anyway.

As for what to do after you cap with illusion, only capping with dt would benefit your dpm. Damage-wise there's nothing eles to improve :o but there's dozens of things to do in maple

I'm wondering which is better for burst damage.
Like you can't be hugging these new bosses 24/7, and it sometimes limits your frames of attack down to a couple of seconds.

Well also another fact is Illusion has always been stronger than Dragon Thrust so it won't be hard hitting max with Illusion
