It might've been literal, but there are times when literal translations of jokes sound better than liberal adaptations.
Haven't seen the UTW version though.

if they'd followed the plot without the side stories, then the series would be really short. I really don't like their pacing though.

My expectation was that SAO would follow the storyline. Every episode (besides 1) have all been side-stories that have no relation to the plot.

And foreshadowing their marriage? I don't recall Asuna and Kirito getting married in SAO, but I do recall 2 years of semen making a glopping noise as it entered Asuna.

Read the novels at baka tsuki. you won't be disappointed. You should also read Campione!, high school dxd, seirei tsukai no blade dance. Those are also pretty good novels.
But yes, i believe he doesn't actually say that.

Oh yeah, this episode sucked, too. Same with the previous 2 episodes.
