Are you really an Atheist?

I've seen a lot of people saying that they were Atheists but... they don't really seem like it. They seem more like Agnostics or Anti-Theists. Same goes for a lot of Theists, they just associate any questioning of religion/God with being Atheist. For those of you that do not know, I'll put the definitions below.

Agnostic: A person who believes that nothing is known or can be known of the existence or nature of God or of anything beyond material phenomena; a person who claims neither faith nor disbelief in God.

Theist: One who believes in the existence of a god or gods.

Atheist: someone who denies the existence of god.

Anti-Theist: Antitheism (sometimes anti-theism) is active opposition to theism. *// Meaning that they are are going debate, attack and attempt to take down the ideas of God(s) and organized religion.

Keep in mind that this is not a topic to debate religion/God, this is a topic to inform you of what you actually are. I made this because I've been seeing more and more instances where Anti-Theists are calling themselves Atheists; this has a very negative impact on most Atheists because people start to assume that any/every Atheist is going make an argument about God(s)/Religion when given the opportunity.
The word "lack" makes it sound like it should be there. For example, "That little boy is lacking vitamin D" or "The little girl is lacking discipline".
Sorry if someone has already said this, but the way you worded it sounded as though atheists refuse to believe God exists, as you have not inserted the word "a" before "god".

EDIT: Making it sound as if "it (He) should" exist.

OT: I consider myself an atheist.

I am a Relativist and Existentialism Atheist.
How ever, I believe in Karma. And to the guy who said that if an Antheist believed in Karma is no real Atheist, then I am sorry but you are wrong.
Karma is not a higher being nor a religion itself.
It is the belief you are juged based on your actions you commit throughout your life. You don't need to be religious to belive in this, because I know it from personal experiences.

His assuming is correct. In my case, at least. Been to church every Sunday since I was born. Everyone in my family is uber Christian, if they found out I didn't believe in God... Well, let's just say things wouldn't go to well.

I'm a Kerhwinist. The way I figure it is that if there happens to be a deity that I haven't spent time worshiping, and some kind of heaven/hell system, I can simply use my dashing good looks, gentlemans appearance, and large amounts of money to buy and charm my way into the most desired section of this life in death.

@plain88 : Actually there is solid evidence of Jesus Christ performing miracles, such as healing the blind, sick, and paralyzed. This is actually standard education in 7th grade world history. If you actually read my post instead of automatically going against me because you side with non-believers (this is not an insult, it is an appropriate term), you would see that I countered his argument. I don't just throw pathetic insults out there.
Lol, so many assumptions. I never stated anything about my religious views, just that your "personal opinion" is clearly a claim that what you said is true. Does saying it is an opinion make it politically correct?

Your insults are useless.
Maybe YOU should go and look outside. Realize that there is no proof of any existence of anything in this universe, whether you "personally" believe in it or not.
Agnostic, atheist, whatever you want to call it... eventually you will wonder how you, humans, and the world came to be. Some believe that the world was formed when a dot, no bigger than the period at the end of this sentence, exploded billions of years ago, which we know as the 'Big Bang.' Then later life started to develop from evolution. I must say, it takes a lot of faith to believe in something like that, right? I mean, evolution has never been proven. It does take some faith to assume that that is how this beautiful world came to be. Personally, it is a lot easier to accept that there was a creator that shaped such a perfect earth. I do believe that there was a man known as Jesus Christ you performed miracles on earth.... oh wait... that can actually be PROVEN. Look it up, come at me. Let's face it, people never want to believe there is someone higher than them. Someone who has the power to do anything. That is why today we have all these crazy new theories and religions to come up with a different excuse for existence.

I am no preacher trying to get in your face. I am just stating the truth. You decide what you want to believe.
It's easier to believe that a space wizard created man from his rib and the entire universe from nothing in 7 days and can do magic.. he's the most loving thing in the universe but will send you to an eternal stay in a lake of sulfur if you don't like him.
Hmmm, sure man. Keep on believing in this crap.

People should stop saying that "Atheists are actually Agnostic". It is more like "Agnostic are actually atheists"

In Atheism, "I don't know" is a good answer, because that is exactly how it is. I assure you that as soon as there is empirical evidence for God, most Atheists will believe in it. The thing is that we are (more or less) sure that there won't be. As in, we don't believe that way. There is different types of Atheism, Agnostic people seem more like practical atheists to me.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Atheism#Practical_atheism

Agnosticism is really just created cause people don't want to call theirself atheists.

Harold Camping is a very interesting guy, he tried to derive a date of the rapture from completely random passages in the Bible. I for one did not believe. There is no way we can predict the second coming. In the Bible it talks about how Jesus will like a thief in the night and it will surprise everyone.

lack (lk)
n.
1. Deficiency or absence: Lack of funding brought the project to a halt.
2. A particular deficiency or absence: Owing to a lack of supporters, the reforms did not succeed.
v. lacked, lackĀ·ing, lacks
v.tr.
To be without or in need of: lacked the strength to lift the box.

tldr: the word "lack" has more than one meaning. Just because you're choosing to interpret it one way doesn't mean I mean it that way. In fact to interpret it as a deficiency is just plain silly. It's obviously the other meaning that is intended in my previous sentence.
"methinks you need a dictionary"? I got the definition of it right, "methinks" you need to expand your vocabulary to state what you actually mean. Most words have more than one definition and using them in situations where a second definition could be applied is disastrous.

I do not believe in a higher power. I also have my own set of beliefs which are not outlined in any set religion of this day in age. I also belief that religion is a load of crap and that people should interpret their religion's book to formulate it around themselves since I feel that it should revolve around the self because we are all different. It should be kept to the self and held as your own, personal.
But yeah...I do not believe in a higher power but have my own beliefs which do not involve one.

Atheism is more, "The rejection of belief in the existence of deities." I didn't like the way you said it because it suggested that there is a god but we choose not to believe in him (not true we simply do not believe that there is a/are god/gods).
I am sometimes anti-theist not to the basic concept of religion but what it had evolved to, and to some of it's values. But I respect a man's belief if he respect's mine.
