MapleStory Direct Launch Ending March 23 MapleStory

I wonder how that's going to work for the steam players.

I tried out the launcher for stability purposes and it seems stable, no disconnects or CTD on launches but it might have just been stable servers. It is a Nexon product though so I'll monitor for abnormal CPU/RAM usage.

Still what an awful decision to cause more inconvenience to players and a super minor inconvenience to hackers.

Pretty sure they made their decision because botters tend to use more than one accounts with the same computer. Nexon is trying to reduce botters, which is a good thing. I dont mind because i use the Nexon Launcher anyways.

I don't need Nexon's Steam I already have Valve's Steam, and using that for maple shrinks my resolution SKLDFJLSKDF

@gekkegerrit: there are several problems with the nexon launcher, not being able to sign in hours after a maintenance is over, redowloading the entire game sometimes instead of patching, and in my case redowloading the entire game everytime i sign onto another account.

so what happens? i still use the game launcher, I don't even log in to the website or download their
stupid 3rd party program nexon thingy..

taking it away seems a terrible idea.

Like I get it, as a company they want to have their entire playerbase for all their games use their official launcher but they should at least make sure it works properly before cutting off lifesupport to the only other viable option of launching this relic of a game.

I dont get it, u folks always have to start using the game launcher as it is now ? Whats the change then ?

@readers: yea just like he said hackers launch their hacks through the game launcher of course this wont do anything since hackers always find a way (not that i know any of that )

@ecyz: Probably might curb hacking, although there are ways to bypass that issue easily (make your own version of GameLauncher).

I don't understand the point of this

So they want more death counts of players...

This is def going to be a pain for me, really annoying to have to relaunch entire game if I wanted to switch accounts. =[
