Misogyny at the 2012 Olympics Following Lolo Jones redemptive story towards the London Olympics, it was disappointing to see her lose. But Lolo Jones became more than just failing to live up to expectations, it suddenly became about her being a woman too. Jere Longman from the New York times wrote that "Lolo Jones was over-rated because of her 'exotic' beauty and a 'fraud' because of her 29-year-old virgin story and her lack of track 'wins'." Gamer Grrrls Hot or Not So, NixiePixel, a 'famous' youtube 'celeb' that is all about open source and video games, recently posted a video about her personal concerns with the gaming and tech industry and how she's been judged on her looks constantly. The video is mostly about her saying that it should be more about your 'geekyness' instead of your 'looks' that determines your level of 'acceptance' in the tech community.
