i see that you can upload your avatar by typing the ign in but what if you uploaded someone else ign in and uploaded that ?

it's funny because people know its me because i put my name on just about every character, some people dont, and become easy prey

Yeah, updating won't help.
The first person to register a character on Basil gets that character attached to their account.
If someone else registers your character, updating won't change anything.
If this happens- if you notice someone else using your MapleStory character here on Basilmarket, this is what you need to do:
Go into Maplestory on that character and take a screenshot of the character saying (using ALL chat) "This is (Basilmarket Name), Hi Basil".
Submit a ticket to Mr. Basil (go to "BasilID" at the top of this page and click "SubmitTicket" ). Explain what happened and tell him the character belongs to you.
Attach the screenshot (which clearly shows both the character's name and your Basilmarket account name) to the ticket as proof.
Be sure to give him the Basil account name that's using your character so he can make the appropriate changes.

Then you'll have someone else's ign displayed along with their character.
Then you would be that character on basil. MANY people do it.
