@repentant wow! thanks for the great feedback, you make a good point. i should think less about how to show off the character and more about the theme. sometimes i wonder why i still post on this site but people like you make me glad i do
why did they both lose their left sock
Maybe those socks came from the same pair and they split it among themselves for both of them to wear. It's cute when I think about it that way.
On-topic: Once again, a beautiful painting. I agree with the second poster - the colors add a nice dreamlike quality to this artwork; looking at it makes me feel as if I'm going to be whisked away into another world. I love that sense of immersion.
Though I think this artwork would've been enhanced if the characters had their backs turned towards us rather than having them run in the (general) direction of the viewer. The image of them running towards the horizon, facing each other laughing as they venture into the unknown, would've strengthened that sense of youthful enthusiasm and adventure. EDIT: (Then again, I think the current artwork does a good enough job at conveying that already. The guy's thirst for adventure and the girl's mixed feelings of curiosity and bewilderment--possibly from getting caught up in the moment--are communicated beautifully through their facial expressions. Either way, I enjoy the artwork as it is now.)
