@Telatsu the video game thing has been in debate for over 20 years, not the past few months
Clearly. My point however, it's that the issue has seen a recent surge in attention garnering a more thorough national debate than previously seen for such a prolonged period of time. But for the context of this thread and whom I was replying to that detail seemed largely unimportant and self-evident.
Au contraire mon ami. Video games have become a highly relevant topic over the last few months. An expose on whether or not the TS feels that video games and other areas of public media can reliably be held accountable for violent outbursts and social behavior would satisfy your desire to outline a recent and large controversial issue. Furthermore, this should be relevant to the TS's interests, considering where he's asking, which would make for an even more compelling argument.
I admit, One of my topics for a speech competition was that Video games are a form of art, especially in the sound department, and I used the music from the game Journey. My mistake, I should have elaborated. I meant convincing one video game to be superior than another. Like "CALL OF DUTY VS BATTLEFIELD"
1. What things interest you? Don't say video games or anything like that, because those usually aren't good topics of persuasion. 2. Think about a large controversial issue in today's society. Same-sex marriage, Abortion, Soda, NSA, etc. 3. You can convince people of anything as long as you have reasoning behind every statement you make.
Good luck, find a good topic
