How are my computer specs?

Hey, so I don't usually pay attention to any of this stuff since my brother has just always taken care of the computer but now I'm wondering how good it currently is, I'm going to be getting a laptop real soon and I'm wanting something as good, or better.

Am I wrong to notice that the RAM is pretty low for a desktop PC? And isn't 2.8gb graphics pretty good? I usually only see 1-2.

Thanks.
Your ram is 4GB you can go up to 32GB with the i3-2130 so if you want to go crazy you can.

.. I don't even know what to say to you. It's great that you have a wealth of information that anyone can google but it was 2 or 3am and I didn't feel like explaining anything to OP beyond what a 5 year old can understand. I've actually worked in IT for co-op and most of the time your customers/clients have zero technical knowledge whatsoever and they wouldn't understand the difference between cores or clock speeds. Yes, I could have given him more information than simply "faster" but it was too much effort at the time.
He's talking out of his ass.

@BBD:
-For one thing, how do you max out a processor? Are you talking about overclocking it? And even if you did overclock an old i3 chip, it still wouldn't be able to compete with the lowest-tier i7 chip of the Sandy Bridge line.
-Where did you get the idea that the average processor clocks in at 3.7Ghz?
-Why are you associating RAM expandability with the CPU? Adding more RAM has NOTHING to do with the CPU.
-Actually, why are you only talking about OP's CPU instead of both the processor and GPU?

Just because it is a higher number doesn't mean it going to be faster.
If you get an i3 and max out everything it can use I am pretty sure it is going to be faster than an i7 with lowest output.
If you don't even know how to bring the max output on an i7 there is no point of having an i7.
That's a pretty good computer, but what do you plan to do on your laptop? The laptop specs and prices will vary will depend on what you are going to do on it. The computer presented here would be good for mid gaming.

Go build me a PC-version of the highest-tier Mac Pro that performs 3x better at the same price. You can't. Not even at some arbitrary 2.5x, 2x, 1.5x, or 1.25x multiplier.

OT: You shouldn't have problems playing most modern games on your computer because you're using a low-res (1366x768) display. This is incredibly simple: if you want to play games in HD, then you need to upgrade; if you're fine with your current display, then your current build is fine (for the most part) as well so. Don't fix what isn't broken.

You didn't say what you are using your computer for. But if it is for basic triple A gaming (games bought on Steam) then I can give some input.
Your Intel Core i3-2130 Processor is discontinuance but it isn't bad.
3.4 clock speed is still good, but I am seeing many that are average of 3.7 mostly being used.
No upgraded really needed, but I join the wagon here and if you are looking to do gaming you can get an higher chip model.
i3 is simple, i5 is the recommended because of the Turbo Boost technology in it, the i7 has Hyperthreading and Turbo Boost. Most i7 chips requires a new motherboard so I will stick with i5 so save the cost, but once again your chip can do the work but in a lower settings.

Your ram is 4GB you can go up to 32GB with the i3-2130 so if you want to go crazy you can.
Since the latest generation of console came out the minimum requirements for games is becoming 6GB RAM to 8GB RAM so maybe upgrade this to at least 8~16

You can't properly multitask in a tablet, you can't edit videos on a tablet, you can't play Skyrim on max settings on a tablet, you can't get demo products on tablets, you are stuck on a 1 app store in a Apple Product and on a Android Product you pretty much have the Play Store (yes you can add other stores but the products on them are very little), and watching videos that requires money or watching +18 stuff is harder to do, most new products doesn't have flash.

On the PC it can multitask, you can edit videos using CS6, you can play Skyrim on max settings and then add a mod to make it even look even cooler, you can demo products, you have all of the internet as a store, you can watch anything anytime, if it doesn't have an add on you can just download it.

To me a tablet is for people who needs mobility, a laptop is a mobility with power, a desktop is all about power.
Also I never see a purpose to buy a tablet because my phone does the same thing and my phone is always beside me.
If i had your knowledge i'd be godlike.

The graphics card is pretty good. The processor is a bit underaverage for gaming.

PC still has good uses. Personally I need something with a pretty strong GPU and don't want to worry about being unable to upgrade components.

Tablets can't do what I need, and even laptops are very inconvenient.

it is good enough to surf the web and such but not enough for gaming.

If you want to game, upgrade it to 8GB RAM in total and get a i7 processor.

I am not familiar with AMD though.
