Heavensward first impressions?
So I've played it for about 8 hours since the servers went up. I love most of it so far. A lot of the things that didn't impress me wound up really blowing me away, and the stuff that did impress me was more of a slight letdown. My biggest issues being the new equips and ilevel curve. The expansion totally devalued everything from 2.0. A Wootz set cost 1-1.5m per equip and it's only 110, yet the Npc shops sell i115 equips for 15k a piece. Ironworks and Demon armor is doo doo now as far as I can tell. And don't get me started on Zodiacs...
Outside of that I LOVE everything else. The new maps and music are gorgeous and blow Destiny's designs out of the water imo. Sea of Clouds + Umbral Wind weather + being midnight is totally OP lol. Have yet to unlock my flying Mount or try any of the new classes yet (but I hear DrK is slowwwwww)

Ok so...my SO and I switched servers so we could play with some of his irl friends.
He's on TS with them constantly (which I'm fine with) but then there's this casual af guy that comes on and it's awkward as hell trying to do things with 5 people when most dungeons require 4.
On top of that, he plays the same class as me and is always taking the gear I need. It's pissing me off a lot tbh.
And maybe I'm a bit of a beach but whenever he talks on TS there's always some loud ass white noise in the background, and he thinks he's a lot funnier than he really is. It's frustrating to say the least.

Drk I think is stronger only because they can beef up their dps with darkside in conjunction with their tank stance so it's interesting so it's an odd spectrum haha. I've honestly enjoyed pld I might continue moaning that but I'll see depending on how drk turns out by 50. But yeah mch I'd is awe but I hate when they use blank as part of their rotation in dungeon instances but their defensive/offensive turrets were awesome
I tend to lean towards classes like mihile (light swords) so I'll deff keep nin as my second

But yea, the only things I got problems with in Heavensward so far (just entered Dravania) is previous equipment being devalued, crafting equips still pointless as quests give out full HQ sets for free as you go, and VA changing (wai dey do dis? the only one I like more is Ilberd's new VA). Still got loads to do <3 <3 <3
@Liam How's their damage compared to WAR? I know PLD is weaker dps wise of the two, but is DrK stronger than WAR to make up for being squishier? I'm not leaving my PLD but I plan on going with MCH here in a bit as my 2nd class because in every MMO I play I always pick the closest thing to a Paladin and a Mechanic lol they're my two signature classes in any MMO.
@Kazzooey: It's been fine for me. I've been logged in all day without an issue. A couple of times when I log in a get a 2002 error but it usually corrects itself.
I haven't played much of the new content outside of new classes so I can't really comment much but as far as new classes go I love how fun astr is and the mechanics. Mch don't show much diversity from bards until later levels and are fun but newbie mch are a migrain and a half when they use blank asap. Drks play like pld until dark dance and the skills that follow make it fun.they do get hit the hardest when getting huge mobs in comparison to the other two tanks. So I personally think they are the squishiest tank class but I'm not complaining, just feel bad for my healer. But yeah I like the expansion so far wish I didn't work so much so I could really enjoy the game

Is it just me? But it's been unable to connect to the database for 2 hours now but it says servers are all online. It seems like servers are stupidly over-max I guess. Mateus is a dead-ish world and within the first 10 min of launch there was already a log-in que lol. I wonder how bad the que was for places like Excalibur and whatnot. They need to upgrade server capacities if this is the case.
I like it a lot.
Getting all the aether currents in order to fly in each different area is a bit of a pain, but once you can fly, oh man-totally worth it.
It feels weird being a noob again.
The dx11 graphics are pretty damn nice as well.
I'm personally looking forward to all the new collectibles (minions/TT cards/housing items/mounts/etc).

Oh but it's so worth it! $40 expansion that has at least as many hours as The Witcher 3. But everybody has their own reasons I guess
