Where does maplestory put its files?

I re downloaded Maplestory for the patch, and there was an error that occurred during the download. However, it had managed to download a good amount of files before the error, as I noticed I was missing 6 GB of space.. I am short on space, and I don't want to simply give it up due to files that I wont be using. So my first question is, if I try to download Maplestory again, will the files I already have be overrun by the latest download? Or will they just stack upon each other, and I have to go delete them to get my space back? And If I must personally delete them, where do I find those files?

Use Windows search function to search for Mssetup* and delete anything the search finds.
That will remove any "Mssetupvxxx.xxx" files which are the Maplestory setup files that are downloaded when you download the game client.

Also open your Maplestory folder (normally inside C:/Nexon ) and see if there are any folders with "garbage" names like "xghksslds$$$"
If so, delete those folders too. (Just the ones with $$$ in the junk names.)
Those are "failed patch folders" that are left over whenever a Maplestory patch fails for any reason and can take up a HUGE amount of wasted disk space.

Then open "My Computer" and RIGHT-click on the C: drive then click on "Properties" on the popup menu.
On the Properties page click the "Disk Cleanup" button under the big "pie chart".
Let it scan the hard drive for junk files taking up wasted space (it'll take a while), and then on the popup that comes up check all the boxes and then click "OK".
That will remove junk files that tend to build up over time and waste a lot of disk space.

Then try the download again.

It's a good idea to check the Maplestory folder after every patch just in case any of those junk folders are left over and delete them regularly to keep it from wasting your disk space.
Also running the Windows Disk Cleanup about once a month will help keep junk files from building up.

Check your temporary files. Maybe there's 6 GB missing because of that.
