Ankles healing during ball

i was playing ball 2 days ago. i jumped and landed on my left foot while it was everted, and had a ankle sprain as a result. I immediately couldnt bend my knees by lowering myself, or land after a jump. When I got home, i iced it for like 20 mins, then i kinda left it on it overnight while it was elevated on a pillow. The next day was pretty much the same pain, no real progression on the healing. But today, it got better; however i couldnt lower myself (when you shoot a ball). I had to cancel on my friends because of this, but they showed up at my house anyway lol, so what the hell, i went. During the games, i played like i normally did (jump blocks, layups, jump shots, crossovers) and i did not feel any pain. My friends were confused, and so was I when they mentioned it. I just finished like a 4 hour motive and went home, still no pain. Just wanted to share cuz its cool how my ankles basically healed WHILE i was playing ball normally.

Has anyone experienced something similar to this?

Your body will get used to such injuries as you start coming off the bench more son, don't worry.

My Achilles tendinitis was like that too and the pain also decreased to 0 pain during activity. It kept coming back each day so I had to lay off exercising with my legs for 3 weeks.
Had to regain mobility with it too by excessive foam rolling , Rice, and stretches

Either you're one lucky butt or its gonna bite you
i applied ice because it kinda swelled in the area. was that a mistake?
Ice is fine; it reduces inflammation and swelling. As long as you don't have ice on there like 24/7 it doesn't really hurt

@derrer nah, ankle breaking is when you manage to shift your man's centre of gravity drastically and pull back or switch directions (depends on the scenario) hard and quickly enough, causing them to fall.
now that your ankles have healed, i want you to 1 on 1 against me. ))

Definition of breaking someone's ankles. But all jokes aside, glad you got better

One time I fell on my Ankle really bad, so I had to sit on the side. Like 30 minutes later I started playing again, and it felt a lot better. After I got home, it hurt bad
First mistake was icing it. That only delays the healing and makes your muscles much more sore in the long run. You may not feel it, but that doesn't necessarily mean the sprain has gone away though, so take it easier for now.
That's really cool, but your ankles haven't healed just because you feel no pain. It's kinda like the Fly Agaric mushroom. You eat it and you feel fine and yet you're dying inside. Not saying you're going to die, obviously.
