Well you need to realize two of those servers at the least are dead, and there's two different server alliances between 7 worlds. The population is getting lower. Nexon has obviously been trying to compensate for it.

The gms of maple are complete idiots, Poorly thought out gm events, ruining maplestory by banning people for no reason. I swear, if we got rid gms or put smarter ones, maple will be so much better

The only thing I think nexon did wrong was mess up the old maps. Why did they have to reshape all of the old victoria island maps when only a few of them are frequently visited. The reason maple story is dying is no surprise they are trying to continue what wizet started and are failing. Just like any other story or game the adaptations are never as good as the original.

As for my own view of the game?

Although the words "you can't please everyone" runs into mind, it seems that usually the majority of us complain, and if not complain, don't really have much fun. It depends what "grave" means, in terms of their revenue, it keeps boosting because of most of the events that usually requires Nexon Cash. There needs to be a lot of other improvements (as usual), before it can be considered "dug out of it's own grave".

My views of it seems really Free to Play, Pay to Win, and even so, huge amounts of money are needed to be dumped to even get there. Sure there are ways around it, but the time difference gap is huge, making it look like a waste of time to some people. Expeditions have been made harder, and allow less people, along with maybe a death count and/or boss buffs, which discourages most players from facing it, while the rest (usually NX users), just buy more to be able to beat it again. This also opposes parties and expeditions.

I'm a bit mindless thinking about the counters for my own thought, however there should be much more than what I've said that makes this game currently "dig itself a hole for it's grave".

It's not like his complaints aren't justified, and who are "those people"? People who voice their opinions on increasingly obvious issues riddling their beloved game?
Just because you have a complaint about the way something is doesn't mean you should just quit. Pretty sure everyone has some type of problem in their life but you don't see them all just quitting do you?

OT: RED seems to have done a lot to improve on some of the issues but I still don't think it'll be enough to revive the game completely. That harsh pay to win environment has been going on for far too long now. Unless they go in and remove all non cosmetic related CS items, make all bosses killable with a group of decently funded toons, increase the drop rate of all items and mesos by a substantial amount, and make quests legitimately worthwhile, I don't think Maplestory will grow to become anything more than a grind fest/social media center for the average player. It's the frequent updates that keep the players coming back but when you look at it as a whole nothing has really changed aside from the amount of money you need to spend to be considered "pro".

I still enjoy this game so I don't think its in a grave..I think you people may just not like change.

Maple better not close down. If it does, my childhood of PC mmos will be gone. First it was survival Project, then it is maple...

i still find it enjoyable despite the fact that i really have nothing (not funded in the slightest) but there's so much going on in the game now like events, high levelled gear over and over again, cubing, potentials, bonus potentials, fishy hacker scrolling, duped gear, scamming and the immense amount of greed that nexon's instilled into people due to having these things. it's so fun and addicting of a game that some people are even willing to do unethical things and risk getting caught in order to get what they want. the game is so enjoyable that people who hasn't quit are willing to turn a blind eye to nexon's god awful customer service (they're getting better though). i play for different reasons but as long as they keep reeling people in with new content and we continue to purchase nx the game would probably never be corrupt enough to die down completely

Unless the maplestory department gets their very own GM Tekonos like dragon nest has it's extremely unlikely
