Post a pic of your city! In our hyperconnected world of the internet, we sometimes take for granted the distances between us and the people on other side of the screen. I had taken a photo of my city's river valley a couple of days ago (for a paper I'm working on): Location: Edmonton, Alberta, Canada It would be awesome to see the familiarity/unfamiliarity of your city environments! Post of a photo of your urban landscape~ be it green spaces, skyscrapers, streets, neighbourhoods... you name it~ I'm sure you have at least one grainy photo in your phone/computer somewhere :) #majorprocrastination #halp

Where are you in life atm? I've made a thread like this in the past and I just wanted to check up on y'all. What's new? What do you like/dislike about how things are going in your life right now? What are your plans for the future? Bombard me with your stories. My situation: It is currently fall break - so we have a week-long vacay before final assignments are due, and before final exams finally creep in. I have a year left to finish my undergraduate degree, so I'm both anxious and excited to move on to the professional world (unless I decide to do a masters). It's starting to snow in my part of Canada, but it's a rather warm start to winter. Classes are a little tough this sem, but thinking about the next/final two semesters stresses me ou

Im meeting a Mr. Basil this evening So one of the things I needed to do to finish up my internship application is to get my youth mobility Visa approved. I needed several documents notarized, so I had to find a lawyer that could make my documents offish. I first talked to (what sounded like) a Nigerian lawyer which tried to overcharge me for his stamps/notary services. I ditched that guy and continued to look for another lawyer that can notarize my stuff. Alas, I was transferred to a lawyer named Basil... I am now meeting Mr. Basil at 8:15 pm tonight at a McDonald's near my house so I can finally finish my Visa application. I am assuming Mr. Basil is a brown guy. Sounded like it. No accent or anything. It just sounded like it. Just wanted t

Coffee vs. Tea What do you guys prefer? How do you like your coffee / what kind of tea's do you like? My preference has evolved in recent years... I've gone from large double-double (2 cream / 2 sugars) to a small black - and more recently, just a small cold black (no cream no sugar) iced coffee... If I'm feeling sick though, I prefer a nice cup of mint tea *o* I often get my coffee from Tim Hortons - then again, I don't really have a gauge on 'good' coffee. I can only tell if a cup of coffee is really terrible - otherwise, coffee's just coffee from branch to branch...

What is Your 5-year plan? I like setting goals, both realistic and unrealistic. Whether or not I succeed in accomplishing these goals/objectives, I just enjoy writing them down. My brief and basic 5-year plan: - finish my undergraduate degree in +/- 3 years - to participate in an international internship during school - work in my country for a year after graduating (pay my student loans) - decide whether or not to go to graduate school - brushing up on my french and spanish as I explore the world *o* I want to know YOUR 5-year plan!

Chat basilmarket, complex, conventions, crazy, guilds, individuals

Was everything from the old basilmarket removed? :( I do miss the interactivity of the platform! The other day, I remembered how we had to verify people's legitimacy in selling NX by whispering "trustworthy" and high-leveled individuals from well known guilds! It just made me realize that even as a 15 year old, we were exposed to some pretty complex social conventions in the virtual world of MapleStory... even having "tracks" to find out who's inside a PQ and using autoclickers just to get into them... Crazy times those were!! ;)

Ive had enough I have had enough with MS. It takes too much time out of my schedule, and I really regret just wasting hours on end on this game. I mean it was fun, but I don't think it was worth wasting my time on. I've probably spent less than $150 in NX for the past 6-7 years of game play, which is good, but the time I've invested on it was wayy too much imo. Anyways, it's been fun, and I'm deleting MS right now. If y'all can wish me luck with for sure quitting, that'd be great ;) Although I'm sure I'll come back in a few months just to check in on what's new! I'm for sure not going to be playing MS at all now though! ttylaterss basilers! EDIT: Saved my screenies and deleted MS :3 cyaaa

Spanish sentence too long? So I just have a little composition to do in Spanish and I can't help but think that I'm making my sentences too long... Could y'all tell me if I should chop this sentence up, or if it's fine to use? "Puesto que la mayoría de los consumidores no habían sido informados de las empresas que apoyan el comercio justo, nosotros pudiéramos usar la publicidad para promover mejores derechos laborales por los países en desarrollo." In english: Since most consumers have not been informed of companies that support fair trade, we could use advertisement to promote better working rights in developing countries. Thanks~
