Why has no one mentioned Maid-sama?
For the amount of hype it got as a shoujo it left me a bit disappointed. It's not bad or anything, it just kind of slips my mind that it exists.
to this day, i'm still looking for the first 2 volumes of AKB episode 0, but it's like they don't exist.
Shugo Chara was fun until season 3 (half the episode is quite literally filler, with the VAs desperately trying to entertain, but failing miserably)
If you're referring to Shugo Chara Party, then it was irrelevant filler / non-canon anyway. I would recommend Shugo Chara, but skip out on Party because it's stupid.
Otherwise... Cardcaptor Sakura. Do it. Do it. Do it. It's gloriously beautiful.
Why has no one mentioned Maid-sama?
Thanks guys i'll try it all~
cory in the house
Sukitte Ii na yo
Puella Magi Madoka Magica.
Akatsuki no Yona is the best Shoujo I've seen.

Okay, here are the actual recommendations:
Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki-kun is technically not a shoujo, but it's still really enjoyable since it's about a girl who's in love with a guy who writes shoujo manga.
Princess Tutu isn't as silly as it sounds. People watch it as a joke, and end up crying. Please watch it, it's really good.
I can't give you anything about AKB0048 and Skip Beat because I haven't watched them, but my friend who loves shoujo stuff said they're both great.
You should probably read Kimi ni Todoke instead of watch it, the pacing is better in the manga. Well, it's the same...? But it feels better because you're reading it. There are a lot of un-anime'd shojo manga that are really good/adorable out there. In fact, I personally find anime adaptations of Shoujo manga can be a bit... interesting sometimes (as in they're cringey). I asked my friend who literally inhales shoujo manga and she recommends: Love So Life, Last Game, Hibi Chouchou, VB Rose, Faster than a Kiss, Strobe Edge (by the same person as Ao Haru Ride), Koko ni Iru yo, Soredemo Sekai wa Utsukushii, X (by CLAMP), Arisa, Marmalade Boy, Emma, Kodomo no omocha (don't watch the anime), Hime-chan no Ribbon, Otomen, Aish[i]teruze Baby, and Special A. I also recommend Million Girl, Shugo Chara (except that romance with Ikuto is really creepy, like she is literally 12 and he is 18, no, sTOP), Youkai Navi Runa, and Ogawa to Yukai na Saitou Tachi.
If you get around to watching Ouran, you should read the manga after to get moar! That adaptation was spot on, though, and it deserves a second season. Everything Skyenets said is also really good (and go read Akagami no Shirayukihime if you like the anime~)
golden time (kinda not really shojo)
Nisekoi is shounen, so it doesn't even qualify.
Let's not act like this would stop people from suggesting Nisekoi.
Toradora is neither shounen nor shoujo, but it's probably closer to shounen genre
That's seriously the only one I didn't bother checking the genre for. Disregard it not being Shoujo, it's still a good watch that kind of has a bit of a Shoujo plotline (Just less cheesy).
have yet to watch kamisama hajimemaCENSORED. it looks fun just from watching the pv/opening
It's a pretty fun watch. Just a shame that the first season had a bit of an alternative ending. Though they kind of ignored what happened there in season 2. If you enjoy shoujo then I would definitely recommend it.
@skyenets: edit: ugh, i accidentally pressed before even -
Nisekoi is shounen, so it doesn't even qualify.

ookami shoujo was fun to watch (and cringe at times)
Not even a little bit of cringe. That crap is abusive and unhealthy and it being popular makes me want to puke. The guy is absolutely inhumane towards that girl and after she got hit in the face by some crazy guy he (the boyfriend) demanded sex because god knows what reason, I think it was something among the lines of just guilt tripping her and because he was angry with her. This anime/manga is just so ergh gross.
OT:
Some I enjoyed and believe to be pretty good:
Akagami no Shirayukihime
Akatsuki no Yona
Kamisama Hajimemash[i]ta
Tonari no Kaibutsu-kun
Ouran High School Host Club
Toradora
Ore Monogatari
Nana (Ergh, I have a bit of a love and hate relationship)
I suggest giving Honey and Clover a watch. It's not really a shoujo but it still feels a little bit like it. Just more adult oriented.
I hate it but I also can't stop watching it I don't even know why it just makes me feel all bubbly inside:
Kimi ni todoke (You have to be patient)
Also inbefore Nisekoi crowd.
^none of them are shoujo
ookami shoujo was fun to watch (and cringe at times)
Prism: Aurora Dream and Smile Precure were also pretty fun
too bad it's hard to find many shoujo, most of the anime is catered towards the older male otaku.
Not sure if it's shoujo, but Clannad and Clannad Afterstory are pretty good. Nagi no Asukara was good too.
