Got a 30day false ban and nexon won't tell me why

So.. This last month I barely logged on due a mix of lack of time and loosing interest in the game. The few times when I do, I just log off like 10 minutes later since everyone is afk and Broa/Khaini is dead. This Saturday, I log on due to spell trace fever to see I have nothing to spell trace, so I log off. Then Sunday, I log to do RJPQ to train a mule, get bored, then log off. Monday, I do RJPQ again then see in the PQ map seeing some people needing help with DRPQ, so I help them, then log off.

Today, I decide to log on to see that I'm banned until July 14th, 2016 at 10:51am. This means I was banned at 10:51am today which I wasn't logged on for. I wasn't hacking, botting, etc. So I go to Nexon's Live Chat to discuss this matter and all they tell me is "Suspicious Activity". I ask them further to expand on what this "Suspicious Activity" is, and they just say they can't disclose any information.

Okay, this has to be bullsh*t. I've seen other people's screenshots ask why they were banned and Nexon has given answers like "For Botting" or for "Illegal Transactions" or stuff like that, but no, they refuse to even give me a non-vague answer. I don't know, I just wanted to vent, and I know their live chat sucks and it probably won't get lifted.

@masinko Yea I was one of the false banned Phantoms from back then. I helped with the list on the forum. I remember the GM blamed me for being involved in Suspicious activity. Then they finally took measurements after Hime send in a report to the higher staff. If Hime didn't do that, we would all be unbanned after 30-days with a bad history, which restricts us from doing certain events. And most likely get 30-days banned again since the issue wouldn't have been addressed and fixed (happened to the person who started the thread, banned in January and again in February).
It's sad to see the customer support is still like that after many years. Even if they gave you an answer like you were banned for 'Botting' or something else. You will still want to know the details which they won't give either. It's hard to talk to GMs. You can try another day and hope you will get a different GM, but I think the reply will be the same and or limited.

What falls under 'Suspicious Activity' according to Nexon?

Anyway I wish you good luck and I hope your account can get unbanned earlier.

just send a ticket, if you truly did nothing wrong, they will unban you.

Updated my parallels because I play on a mac and I'm forced to use a program to play MS. However, my MS started to get glitchy & I kept getting the NGS error and kept disconnecting every 5 minutes.
Logged in the next day
PERM BANNED (Which was extremley weird because I've never been banned before)
sent a ticket explaining to them what happened
they replied asking me for my irl photo and asked me a couple questions
i gave them what they asked
they unbanned me the next day (srs)

@masinko Nothing new there with "live chat". GM's there are pretty ignorant and hardly ever know what they're doing. Try different chats (like above poster said) and see if that helps.

Going to guess that this "suspicious activity" involves your IP and ping constantly changing when you described moving from home to college to work and accessing MapleStory in all three places. It makes it look like you are account sharing. Who knows what the true reason is really, though. It's easy to get Nexoned nowadays.

Keep trying to speak to them, don't give up yet. Worst case scenario: you indicate you haven't been as interested in MapleStory as you were before, so a 30 day ban probably isn't going to kill you (and it wouldn't matter either way regardless).

@masinko that just happened to my friend, they wouldnt tell him why, and then sunday his ban ended and he logged on to find out he had been hacked.... lmao classic

I don't understand why they have this obligation not to disclose information halve the time. Now to be fair there are some who'd probably go opening their mouths and start exclaiming as to why, which is maybe something Nexon doesn't want.

But being incredibly vague, or just not willing to speak outright causes more problems than it really should. Especially towards ones that are innocent in the long run.

@terrorface: As far as I know, no, but I recently moved out of college (one place) to home (another place) then to where I am now (to start working), so my IP has pinged significantly in the last 3 weeks.

@pokiitia: I got a similar response to that when my phantom was false banned back during the mass banning due to lag + carte noir. That got lifted since maple banned almost every phantom then. I'll try live chatting with them again tomorrow.

That isn't the same GM I spoke to, and I have live-chatted more than 3 times for an issue.
So no, that isn't the only department for this issue, and there is more than 1 GM you can talk to.
4/5 are helpful.
Don't believe that noob GM. They're probably a cranky old lady irl.
Just try on another business day.

And no, they didn't tell me I was spamming and did not revoke my rights to Live Chat.
Send a ticket with the above screenshot attached and demand a reason for each new GM you talk to.
